If you'll pardon a very keen lifetime support view, admittedly one not up to square with things these days as my era is coming to an end; Bolton today are a bit like an autograph book; a good collection of unrelated names all famous for something somewhere but no sort of a team. We're professional as a club, professional in terms of the word via pay, but as a football team, no sort of professionals. Almost all the team are strangers to each other with less than a season together and a lot of unpronounceable names and, despite looking like a pro outfit on paper, quite capable of drawing a six an seven eighths slip from a one-ticket raffle hat.

A history of failure to take chances and giving away soft goals and stupid fouls makes the once mighty Wanderers quite capable of losing to any Sunday pub league team. In short, despite almost being able to field two decent teams we need to start being professional as a team who can play to each other in a system instead of more all changes than Crewe Railway station in its hey-day. The season is slipping away and, unless we buck up soon, we're in danger of slipping with it.

COME ON YOU WHITES.... ae:)

How long does it take to hear about a ban appeal? I don’t think it’s obvious which way it will go unfortunately.

I'm 90% sure they'll uphold it, because it was clumsy so they can say it's not a clear error. Just because it was harsh won't be enough I think.

See whilst I suspect they won't overturn it, I'd say the replay angle shows it was neither dangerous nor with malicious intent and therefore there is clear evidence it was a mistake. But probably won't pan out that way.

Call me an optimist but I think it'll be overturned. It's obviously wrong.

This is Bolton. I think we’ll be shafted.

Evatt suggested we've presented a pretty strong case to the authorities, but he also thinks we'll be shafted.

Would be a shitter to have Maddison suspended for three games based on a bullshit decision. He looked slightly rusty anyway, so if this isn't overturned we're likely not going to get many games with him being match sharp.

Get in there. That's a big psychological boost for Saturday if nothing else.
