Whatever they do in training it sure as shit doesn’t involve set pieces. It’s our undoing every week.

They get content. We've been told often enough.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 8:53 pmWhatever they do in training it sure as shit doesn’t involve set pieces. It’s our undoing every week.
In the end happy to get a point.

An absolute disgraceful refereeing display again. If that red isn't rescinded then I'll eat my hat. The worry is it was a straight red and if it's not then he's banned for 3 games.
If that's the tactics that wins or gets you draws then we need to get on it. We should have adapted as it was happening from minute 1. A header from Baptiste and we win.
Can't remember an opposition team getting my blood boiling by so much blatant cheating.
Positive is we didn't lose but feck me it feels like we did.
EFL sort your fecking referees out.

Very disappointed with a point, which says a lot.
Maddison was trying too hard and Evatt needs to calm him down but that card must be rescinded. Dapo looks a good player; if he impresses like that again off the bench he might be in line for a start. MJ was tidy and looks like he can see a pass, once we settle. Declan John looked good when he came on, too, considering the situation.
I can sort of understand the Elbo sub - Delf had done very little, Elbo theoretically offers pace on the break - but it didn't work. However, not entirely sure Tutte or especially Comley would have been a vastly better choice; either would have meant the red card cost us not just one out-ball but two.
But this was a difficult game because Morecambe were ugly niggly shithousing wankshafts. Always quite admired them from a safe distance but tonight they were just about everything that's ugly about football.
On balance, rest of the season should be more interesting and exciting. I reckon we'll finish 8th or 9th.

Indeed. Glad we hung on in the end. A point more towards safety...
Be interesting if we get that red appealed. I don’t even think their lad went off the pitch for pretend treatment. But in real time I saw it and though oh he’s in trouble here. Certainly changed the focus of the game, but the decision to bring elbo on was stupid - all they were doing was playing for set pieces so you need your strongest defenders on. Evatts as arrogant as some of the HMS piss the league muppets.

Saw enough with the full XI and the new guys for a bit of optimism.
Set pieces have got to be improved on. Rapidly. That's down to coaching and should be immediately obvious.
I'm sticking with 10th as my end of season prediction

Feels like one of them were there could be another angle of him showing studs up...but the fact he’s screaming before Maddison’s near him, and I’m pretty sure he didn’t even go off the pitch I think he’s got him sent off. Still not sure it will be overturned mind. As he was walking off the pitch I thought ‘that’s why he’s playing for us’.

That was not a red card, it was silly to dive in like he did but if you watch it again the Morecambe player actually goes over the top - it could have possibly been a red card the other way, but it was a bit stupid to dive in like that but it wasn't two footed or off the floor, the refs are appalling in League 2 & Morecambe are a cheating set of soft, diving bastards.
I thought Dapo looked very promising & Maddison looked ok for the 10 mins he was on the pitch, John is a much better player than Jackson IMO - and the old men need to go ASAP Gilks & Baptiste. All in all a decent performance in spells but we are not getting anywhere near the play offs, our defence just isn't good enough - if Joel Lynch cant get a contract & get in that team at CB ahead of Baptiste then he must be a bad un.

The reason we all thought "straight red" was because of the way they reacted, and the ref bought it too. Pathetic.

Let’s hope an appeal is successful then. Marcus Maddison the footballer looked pretty useful in that 12 minute cameo - definitely a lack of match sharpness though.

I was more interested in the slow-mo underneath the comment - that actually does look the other way around...officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 9:15 pmhttps://twitter.com/marcusmaddison7/sta ... 33477?s=21

Aye. A little earlier Thomasson mistimed one in a similar position and I thought then, if the bloke had made a meal out of it, he'd have been in trouble.

That's now. Win tonight, maintain some vague hope. Now it doesn't matter. I'm fecking furious and it's the manager's fault.DJBlu wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 9:07 pmWhen neither promotion nor relegation are a factor I would guess.
I'm not having any more 'what if such a player does X Y Z' excuses. A proper manager sees that out. He's a clueless amateur. Absolutely confirmed for me tonight that he doesn't have the know how to get results.
Ps. And that Elbouzedi can feck off as well.

Seems to be enough evidence to appeal it. Be a real pain to miss him for 3 games. Especially with Sarcevic injured as well. I don’t think it was the best idea in the world to dive in like that against moaning morecambe. But it’s a lack of match sharpness as much as anything else, deffo not malicious.
