Agreed and/but it's also about knowing when to go. We've just had the ball in our half and suddenly Col sent five scurrying after us: a good pass from there and we've missed out half their team. But it wasn't a good pass.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 1:36 pmYep. A bit more zip needed in both tempo and our passing.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 1:35 pmI feel we need to up the tempo a bit. Clear that the king not having his best game sadly.
EDIT which is sort of what Mar's saying.

That’s Colchester’s plan then.

Arthur's in danger of getting the half-time hook here.

We need to start peppering this keeper.

We might catch them on the break by drawing them out. Equally that’s when they look their most dangerous. We need to pass it quicker and more direct.Mar wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 1:39 pmI'm tending to disagree, the time we put the ball in the back of their net is when we slowed it down and encouraged them to get out of their half so that we could exploit the space in behind and catch them on the back foot.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 1:36 pmYep. You could argue that is upping the tempo, but I suspect that the worst thing we could do is let them get a system of parking the bus like Barrow did.
Re: Scrambled Easter eggs. V Colchester at the Unibol, Friday 1-o'clock
Colchester sussed the fact if they get tight then we can't find the pass.

Arthur not taking his chance well. Poor.

They’ve started to press us and our game has gone off the boil, these last few minutes.
Re: Scrambled Easter eggs. V Colchester at the Unibol, Friday 1-o'clock
Suspect there is more pressure to perform given he's been given his chance. We're all wanting him to do well but today doesn't seem to be his day. Especially if you compare how well he's done to Dapo today. Maybe he needs to swap flanks?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 1:42 pmArthur's in danger of getting the half-time hook here.

Ooooh, Dapo with a pass and a half there.
Unlucky.

Piss poor in the final 3rd.

I like the guy but coming on late in the game, often when we're winning, against tiring defenders is a very different proposition to starting against determined defenders.Mar wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 1:45 pmSuspect there is more pressure to perform given he's been given his chance. Almost heretical to say it (and impossible to disprove) but it's hard to imagine Isgrove would have offered less.
But Arthur's not alone in underperforming.

This passing it between the centre backs to draw them out is a great idea. However, if you're so slow to finally play a forward pass, all their men have dropped back.

Re: Scrambled Easter eggs. V Colchester at the Unibol, Friday 1-o'clock
Lee needs to come deeper to receive the ball. Williams clearly isn’t comfortable playing in tight spaces and isn’t giving the centre backs an option.
Re: Scrambled Easter eggs. V Colchester at the Unibol, Friday 1-o'clock
First half hour excellent. Last 15 very poor. Arthur been miles off it. Dapo needs to play higher.

Dapo not brilliant either. Past few weeks in fact I feel he’s been a bit of a let down. When your two wide men are struggling it’s tougher.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 1:49 pmI like the guy but coming on late in the game, often when we're winning, against tiring defenders is a very different proposition to starting against determined defenders.Mar wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 1:45 pmSuspect there is more pressure to perform given he's been given his chance. Also, how hard can it be, once you've figured out it's out of sync, to slow the commentary down a second?!

Get Arthur off and see what Maddison can do. Must be fitter and sharper by now.
