This is a classic game where you need to be up for it, play 90mph do the basics of defending and winning it back and getting on the front foot. They’ve clearly decided we can’t have time on the ball. So can’t do what we might want so get in there and play quicker. Turn them round. That is key.

Credit to Harrogate, they’ve started extremely well. We seem completely unable to deal with their pressure.

Who said Evatt was streaky?
feck me we are Jekyll and Hyde.
This is as bad a performance as the start of the season.
@BWFC_Insane. Is this what you meant by giving the team the ball and not the passing at the back?

We’ve come out for the first 20 like it’s a stroll in the park or a pre season friendly. It’s meant to be a cup final.

We seem to be unable to retain possession here. Seeing as that's been a cornerstone of our season to date it'll be interesting to see how this plays out. Harrogate definitely been the better side, haven't seen us have a shot yet.

I credit Harrogate for that. Their rapid closing-down is little short of superb.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 3:23 pmWe're not going to dominate possession today, since no one can seem to hang onto the feckin thing

We are showing no urgency. This is my fear. When a team says can you turn us round and play quicker have we got an answer? We will find out.

When a team presses like this there is space in behind....Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 3:26 pmI credit Harrogate for that. They don’t need to keep it up forever. Switch to a low block and see if we can break them down.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 3:28 pmIt is. True. There's space behind them though if one or two show a little more composure.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 3:26 pmI credit Harrogate for that. This is a proper disgrace. Don't like to go ott but I'm furious. They don't look arsed. Dapo heads long throw back to taker then ambles over like he's got all the time in the world. Then everyone lets them take the piss from a corner.
fecking joke.
fecking joke.

Harrogate 1 win in 7 and 1 goal in their last 5 - just so typical Bolton.
Again a lack of leadership, we are all over the place & Harrogate with nothing to play for want it more, shambolic this Bolton they look completely un motivated. I was over the moon when we signed Maddison, but I honestly can't see what he adds I would take him off now, saying that why are we playing long ball ? you could see this coming 2nd half against Colchester we are back to playing like we did prior to February, these could easily get a 2nd here.
Evatt needs to get Thomason on as we are being completely outplayed & out worked in midfield, we can't handle teams who are in your face & aggressive.

Easily beaten, I've heard – you just pass faster.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 3:29 pmThey don’t need to keep it up forever. Completely disorganised - Appears IE has no game plan
Headless chickens - On the backfoot from kick-off
Harrowgate appear to want to win the game!

Re: Something in the water? V Harrogate, home, 3-0'clock Sat 10-04 -21
You see the tempo Harrogate..,yes Harrogate.... no win in 5 near bottom of league two are playing with...well that. Is that too much to ask a team going for automatic promotion with ‘7 cup finals left’ to play at?
Re: Something in the water? V Harrogate, home, 3-0'clock Sat 10-04 -21
Is this symptomatic of how Harrogate play or are they not usually as good at pressing? Seems like a strange choice to include Maddison against a team pressing this much.
