Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.
Lots of talk that we are signing Xavier Amaechi on loan. Gotta love twitter - first tweet you see this morning about this is 'wow what a footballer definitely going up with this quality'. Then same tweeter a minute later asks 'is he any good?'.
Sums up football for me these days. Never heard of him before - been on loan in German second division apparently but appears to have not settled there at all. A winger.

Reports in Germany are that the loan is already done and dusted. Should be fun.

Another link to a player mentioned previously in this thread.
Tshimanga from Boreham Wood. FLW usually reliable so sounds like solid interest.

Amaechi is a player I know from youth level. I don't know anything of his time in Germany, but he's a hell of a signing if we have got him in and I think he's in the last year of his contract. If he has developed in Germany, even if it's not enough to stake a claim at Hamburg, he will be a very serious player in League One.
Quick, good off both feet (but mostly a lefty), picks a pass, excellent dribbler etc. Can play on either flank or as a '10', but for the youth side was definitely best out wide.
No telling what he is like now, but that's an exciting signing. He is also good from dead ball situations.
I'm delighted to see we are (possibly) also in for Tshmanga, as I think we need the sort on the books.
That'd be three forwards brought in, all of whom have pace. Evatt saw the issue we had and is fixing it. Delighted.

Apparently not in the last year of his deal, as I just logged into Twitter. 2 years left. Still a good loan.

Yeah, I'd say that if you're a player needing to 'reach out', the last people in the whole of English football that you're likely to get a professional, understanding, empathetic, humane response from will be either Lee Bowyer or Joey Barton.
May the bridges I burn light your way

Obviously from several days ago, and in the grand scheme of things nothing to do with this but pretty weird seeing an official twitter account being so candid about players absent from training.

His agent's official Twitter account has asked one website to take down their story as it is "false"....
Their story was that Amaechi was on trial, so don't know what part is false.

Craig McGillivray has signed for Charlton. I understand budgets etc, but I feel that's a miss. He's a good player. Between him and Dixon, I know who I am taking all day long. Same with Gilks.
I am prepared to eat my words this season.

My guess is that agents are probably prickly about reports their players are 'on trial' - when its not the case. But who knows?GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 11:34 amHis agent's official Twitter account has asked one website to take down their story as it is "false"....

Precisely what it was, yeah. Only had an issue with the trial part.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 12:28 pmMy guess is that agents are probably prickly about reports their players are 'on trial' - when its not the case. But who knows?

We’ll know about deals when they are done with these guys. Certainly enthused by what I am reading but I am not in the position where I recognise a lot of the names so wait and see I guess!

I'm fairly confident the Amaechi deal is happening, given that his agent was asked whether he was bothered by reports saying he was at Bolton or by them suggesting he was on trial and he said the trial detail was the issue.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 1:17 pmWe’ll know about deals when they are done with these guys.
Given that the Germans are reporting it and Iles will have asked before saying it looks like happening, I'd be surprised if it didn't go through.

This would be a very dull thread if we waited for that.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 1:17 pmWe’ll know about deals when they are done with these guys. Certainly enthused by what I am reading but I am not in the position where I recognise a lot of the names so wait and see I guess!

Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Thread.
Yes it appears so - apparently someone on social media who knows him has asked him and has posted some message trail that as far as I can tell near enough confirms it - hell of a signing this (even on loan), looks to be very highly rated according to some messages & reports that I've seen today (apparently some of the major European teams wanted him a couple of years ago), admittedly though I had never previously heard of the lad.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 1:39 pmI'm fairly confident the Amaechi deal is happening, given that his agent was asked whether he was bothered by reports saying he was at Bolton or by them suggesting he was on trial and he said the trial detail was the issue.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 1:17 pmWe’ll know about deals when they are done with these guys.

Lets hope that it happens.

Wigan have taken Ben Amos on a 2 year deal, if that softens your disappointment at all?GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 12:22 pmCraig McGillivray has signed for Charlton. Haha I wasn’t suggesting we shouldn’t speculate
Old Wigan wanderers back again. fecking terrible keeper, toss up between him and remi matthews for second worst keeper of the last decade and a half.
