Cheers Brommers. I suspect this may fly below the radar! 😁

I didn't want Ryan's dream move to not get the air time it deserved :D

Evatt comes across as quite a tough cookie, the type who would be ok with players showing some fight and having a pop in the dressing room. He doesn't come across as someone who would get a player bombed out of the club just because of an argument or a few punches even if it was in the dressing room in front of the players.

I think that there is more to this than a dressing room spat or fight.

All guesswork, but it would seem odd for a football club to get rid of its captain because of a dressing room squabble. I'd suggest there's something a lot more serious gone down, but we'll see what comes out in the wash.

Agreed. Its only a few weeks back that IE was publically praising and backing Sarce (&Doyle) for their impact and work rate etc when some kn*bhea..., err, fans, were having a dig at them.

Feels like a Sharon statement is needed to be honest.

Yeah - you'd have to think that last bit to be correct...

I think he was miffed at not being given a new contract yet and dropping him was ‘the final straw’. In which case I’m annoyed we couldn’t keep him pacified till at least January but who knows - if he’s swung for or challenged Evatt one too many times then I suppose he had to go. I do think Ian’s struggling a bit with the way it’s going and my gut is he will have hindered rather than helped the situation.

I think there is more to it and I'm going to suggest that we'll have a different manager at the start of next season.
Just a hunch.

Its hard to imagine what precipitated a move NOW. In January sure. But NOW. Has to be something that's broken down pretty badly (or the unthinkable that we're really strapped for cash that much). But can't see it just being some minor thing.

Yep, you can get yourself in a lot of trouble. Sympathy to those with that problem.

Not terribly linked but saw some stat that had Stockport County as the second most expensive season ticket in Greater Manchester across football, which caused the eyebrow to raise somewhat. 380 quid!

Drove home from Plymouth today and had this news read to me by Mrs G as we crawled up the M6. Dismissed it as ridiculous and unthinkable at first before further revelations confirmed it's accuracy.

It must have been a bad row that there was no comeback from it. If the manager hasn't done anything illegal or too ridiculous, then he has to be backed over the player.

The absence of our talismanic skipper, whilst the teams going through a run of bad form and with no transfer window for 2 months, means Evatt has a lot to overcome, including fresh doubts around his ability from both the board and the supporters.

What a quality signing for Stockport though, their fans must be creaming themselves signing the captain of a mid table league 1 side.

Who loses his head at being dropped? He’s a great footballer for that level but he’s clearly got some baggage. He could have got a gig at plenty of league clubs in Jan but his head has gone in a week.

What are the rules about recalling loan players. Is it possible?

Some stuff from Iles, which doesn't add much but is more #content to satisfy your cravings.

Heh. Chances of Evatt keeping his counsel in all subsequent press conferences? Low...
Looking forward to watching the steam coming out of his ears.

Our squad was looking thin anyway, but after today’s bombshell I’m seriously worried about the next few months. Hope I’m wrong, but I reckon we could be close to the relegation zone come Jan.
