I was going to put that in my match round-up post, but it just totally slipped my mind!TonyDomingos wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 6:12 pmtruewhite15 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 2:55 pmOh, forgot to mention. I was speaking to Matt Gilks pre-game (and what a nice bloke he is), and he mentioned that he's a couple of weeks behind the rest due to knee surgery, but expects to be involved tomorrow. Also, Matt Alexander is due to go out on loan to Lancaster, but will still be training with us.
I'm not due at any more pre-season games until Blackburn, so I'm hoping that somebody else picks up the review baton!
Forgot to mention?!
You speak to Gilkarumma and it slips your mind? Unbelievable!

Re: Pre-season frendlies
Barring the Covid-sidelined Doyle and possibly MJ for one of Sheehan/Lee, I'd say that's probably currently our strongest XI
Nine of last season's lads in there, although obvz Dapo and Dec are now fully aboard
Certainly it's up to the subs, who you imagine will start appearing after an hour rather than at HT, to break past these lads into the team

Re: Pre-season frendlies
Commentator's just called our centre-back partnership "Richard Santos" and "Liam Baptiste", and his sidekick's mic isn't working. #quality
Re: Pre-season frendlies
Why's he calling Baptiste "Mystery/Mistry"?!
Does he think he's Clinton?

Re: Pre-season frendlies
He said something about confusing teamsheets. This after he'd already namechecked Baptiste, albeit as Liam Baptiste.
Evatt not pleased with first half and I can see why: plenty possession, precious little penetration. Let's see if the second-half team can press their case. Only Bakayoko and Jimi Mistry stay on.

Sounds like the previous two games. Passing it around well, loads of possession, keeping the ball - but nothing going on up top.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 3:58 pmHe said something about confusing teamsheets. This after he'd already namechecked Baptiste, albeit as Liam Baptiste.

Re: Pre-season frendlies
Sorry not Gilks, Dixon. Tried to dribble it round the forward, failed, dispossessed, humiliated.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 4:03 pmAbsolute calamity from Gilks, 1-0 within 20 seconds of KO

Re: Pre-season frendlies
It’s because we lack movement and busyness in the team. For me our midfield needs someone who wants to move we are a bit static and were at Atherton. Thomason and Darcy for me improved us.truewhite15 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 4:02 pmSounds like the previous two games. Re: Pre-season frendlies
So Gilks is going to have to play every single game…..
Re: Pre-season frendlies
Flappy again on a set piece there. As you say pre-season, but it's worrying.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 4:12 pmPre season but the ability to do that anytime anywhere worries me.

Re: Pre-season frendlies
Darcy the latest player to hit the box and refuse to shoot. I hate to sound like an Arsenal fan from 15 years ago, but it does feel like we're trying to walk it in.

Re: Pre-season frendlies
The only thing that I’d take of note from this is Dixon looks shaky and we’ve been outmuscled by a physical side. Need to ensure we think whether we have enough players with physicality to match up because we will see plenty like this and of course better this season.
