Wow... what was Batiste doing there in the 6 yard box! Wonderful assist by Kachunga. We deserved that. What a season ahead!

Bit late to be sending Kachunga on.
Not too late for him to get an assist, according to Iles... :pissed:

Really intelligent assist too - so many players would have lashed an effort into the side nettingwith that much pressure at that stage of the game, but.lovely cut.back.and.lay off to Baptiste.

Cracking game and incredible atmosphere - soooooo nice to be back.and.soooo nice to have that sslightly sore throat feeling from shouting again....

We do need to tighten up at the back though. We've got some quality players in there but there were 3 very sodt.goals we conceded today

Christ. Now that I'm out of imminent danger of drowning, the match report. 3-3 in the end, as you know. That's the absolute least we deserved out of it, to be honest. Couple of unforced errors let Dons away with a draw. Wingers weren't quite as effective as last weekend, and I'm not convinced by Bakayoko as a right mid. Johnston, error aside, looked immense. Sheehan did his best impression of prime Djorkaeff in the middle. Doyle ineffective up front, but still feeling his way into it. Lots of reasons to be positive from that!

Doyle looked goosed by the time he was hauled off. Seemed to be really struggling and his touch wasn't up to his usual high standards.

Think he needs a few more games to be back up to speed

Be interesting to see the midweek cup XI v Barnsley. Plenty need minutes - but I also suspect Evatt might fancy a cup run.

I still think midfield balance isn’t quite right. Turnovers are an issue and MJ looks to be isolated too often for my liking. Going to be tired that man by January if Sarce and Sheehan don’t fill the gaps better.

I reckon Evatt will treat it as a run out for a full second XI including any none starters from today; Dixon, Gordon, Santos, Aimson, Brockbank, Lee, Thomasson, Isgrove, Delf, Crawford and Illunga.

Maybe Tutte instead of Crawford with a raft of todays starters on the bench.

I know it's only one game but Doyle gave me a little cause for concern today. Brushed aside far too easily and can look forward to having a half a second less this season with opportunities that come his way. A couple of times today we saw him snatch at chances.
That said, all the strength up top was either behind him in Sarcevic, or much further out in both Dapo and Bakayoko, none of which was to Doyle's benefit.

I believe he missed most of pre-season so hopefully he just needs a couple of games to get up to snuff
May the bridges I burn light your way
