I do like Sarce. He's got a great engine, he's a top leader, never stops running. I agree with Insane on that much. However, I do have to say that his technical ability does sometimes let him down; you can see that it's not quite as good as some of his midfield colleagues. I think his good attributes outweigh the negative, though

If he had more ability he’d be worth tens of millions of pounds. He’s the best we’ve got by a mile at what he does. And he gets goals too. The people who moan about him are the same clueless lot who moaned about Nolan. Sarce and Lee keep their places for me as Sheehan has disappointed of late.

I don't think we have a choice unless we let Baps do it for old times' sake. As I say I wouldn't mind Izzy there in the odd "home game against deep sitters" but he's concussion-suspended.

He’s a top bloke and a top captain. He drives us on and forces a lot of turnovers in the right end of the field. Like everyone he has off nights, don’t buy this his control isn’t up to it or whatever, he’s a pro footballer ffs! But the one thing he never does do is hide! That’s all you can ask for.

I agree with you. He's an excellent captain. He'd definitely be one of the first names in my starting 11. But that doesn't mean he's faultless - I was just adding to the previous conversation. You can see it just by watching him in comparison to Lee and Sheehan - the touch isn't quite as close, his head isn't up as often etc. Minor things, particularly at this level. His engine and drive more than makes up for it, and puts him ahead of the other two for me.

Great 2nd half performance, the team showed a lot of character and the fitness levels look really good to keep going like that. Poor 1st half display, but more than made up for it 2nd half.

Kieran Lee was majestic in the 2nd half, his best performance in a Bolton shirt by some distance, real quality.
