Re: FA Cup 1st Round
And oh how we wanted his loan spell to become permanent. I still remember his debut, 3-0 against West Brom - Dibble was outstanding in his command of the area - something we hadn't seen from any keeper of ours since, I'd say Seamus?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 12:06 am”He’s no’ Finnish, he’s 28” etc…Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sun Oct 17, 2021 10:00 pmMy other abiding memory of that night is that we had a Finnish guy playing in goal named Jani Viander, who had the most extraordinary kicking action that I think I've ever seen.
Stockport and goalies always makes me think of Andy Dibble, throwing his gloves into the away end after a loan spell we knew could never become permanent.
Had a brief Twitter chat with 'Dibs' a couple of months ago - told me how he loved his time at our place and he too wished we could've made it permanent. Ah well.

Didn’t Norris come from Plymouth, or go to Plymouth? Either way I seem to recall we got a decent sell-on fee.

Norris - Went to Plymouth, came through our academy. Think Hasney Aljofree ended up there as well.
Peter Shilton signed for us on loan from Plymouth? Or was that after he had managed them?

Went. We then for a decent fee when he moved on to Ipswich from where I think he was linked with the Prem, and even a return to us, a few times.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 1:48 pmDidn’t Norris come from Plymouth, or go to Plymouth? Was also his wedding that Luke McCormack was drink driving back from when he killed those kids.

Aljofree ended up down there via Dundee Utd as I recall.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 2:11 pmNorris - Went to Plymouth, came through our academy. Think Hasney Aljofree ended up there as well.

I think that Shilton will have been a free agent when he came to us - it was certainly after his management stint.

Haha my memories the same way. Only reason I remembered that one is because i'd watched the video first.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 1:07 pmMy apologies, Mar - I'd completely missed your post (and thanks for digging out a link).
Yes, you're absolutely right, mate; I'm afraid that memory tends to have its way with me these days
Ricketts came on for Rod Wallace on 71, whereas Pedersen scored the third on 73.
Who on earth is/was David Norris by the way? I've absolutely no recollection of this lad whatsoever.
It's odd that Norris is credited with that goal. Certainly looked like a massive deflection.

Re: FA Cup 1st Round
Stockport game moved to the Sunday (3pm); not on telly. £10 for adults, £5 for oldies and youngies.
Therefore Rochdale in the Sherpa Reserves Tin, originally set for the following Tuesday, is brought forward a week to the preceding Tuesday instead - ie in 11 days' time, just after the schlep to Pompey.

If Sarce plays they will have a better team than us.

Bollocks they will. It’s a non league team!
I for one can’t wait to boo him and chant Antony Sarcevic, you’re a wanker, you’re a wanker

^^ I might have a cheeky fiver on Sarce opening the scoring, inside 10 minutes, if that's not already odds-on.

I’m not sure the fat Cnut not being able to get up and down the pitch isn’t a factor in his decision…

How did that go? Were they pleased to see him?

More applause than boos but a fair smattering of the latter. And obviously great hilarity and much w@nker signage when he dragged a chance wide.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 6:31 pmDave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Fri Oct 22, 2021 4:21 pmWill be intriguing to see his reception. Re: FA Cup 1st Round: Stocky Tony’s County (H) Sun 7th Nov @ 3pm
Stockport have sold 3,000 in two days. I wonder if they will be boosted by day trippers from City wanting to see some real football.
You need to be a season ticket holder or member to purchase - membership was announced yesterday and is fairly painless to sort.
Tenner a ticket I think.

To be clear, the membership thing above refers to our fans not theirs. Details here: https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/2021/octobe ... embership/
I just joined, took me approximately 30 seconds.

Yep easy to join ..... BUT ..... my pal is an Ipswich fan and I am bringing him along mid Jan for the home match. Reading the blurb it looks like I have to register him so I can purchase a ticket unless I can buy 2 for myself.
People haven't got a good word for you, but i have T**T.

Surely you'll be able to buy multiple tickets on an individual membership? Registration for every ticket holder sounds like a logistical (and maybe legal?) nightmare.knobpolisher wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 2:48 pmYep easy to join ..... I would expect so - but maybe if your mate drives a burning tractor across the pitch, you'll be culpable.KeyserSoze wrote: ↑Tue Oct 26, 2021 2:51 pmSurely you'll be able to buy multiple tickets on an individual membership?
