Evatts not going to be happy with that scoreline
Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!

And the key to a result is a good :kettle:

Like like Johnston in midfield.

After being gifted a 2 goal lead I hoped we’d be confident and capable enough to knock it around and pick them off. Instead it’s been pretty clueless littered with giving the ball away and basic errors.

Isgrove, John. Both poor.

Dapo, wtf? Wake up and take the toe protectors off.

3-2 up and feeling lucky

God this is shit.

That’s awful defending. January has to be about replacing this back four. Complete donkeys defensively. I include Santos - not good enough and our record this season backs this up completely. Failure after failure. And finding someone else who can actually fill the midfield hole that is gaping tonight without MJ. Poor man is our best defender and midfield player. All by himself.
None of them have been good but the issue today is in midfield. No control at all so we've defended crosses for 45 minutes. They'll get chances eventually. Fair play to Stockport too tbf, they've been excellent.

Santos was having a great game until that last goal, which he is partly responsible for. Two full back, particularly John are being dominated - their number 7 is having a stormer. Midfield is too lightweight, but they are so gash at the back we should still win this. Think Aimson was the right call - should have played instead of Johnston. Kachunga needs to work harder to get involved and Dapo needs to turn on the afterburners.

Yeah it definitely is, as part of the double pivot. Will.A.im to Rico's left.

That was an interesting first half... Was just thinking before they scored their second that we'd end up winning 5-2. Slightly less confident now with the gut. The head says we'll win 5-4... what with neither side being much good at defending.

That was an appalling 45. MF non-existant, defence leaking (I have a bit of sympathy, coz they're getting diddly by way of cover)

I have a horrible feeling there’s a 4-3 defeat here 😕

Midfield a huge problem. Agreed. Just as well we have all those options Evatts been talking about in there. Bout time he brought some on.

Back four though are rubbish. Not just today. All season.

If ever there was a case for signing an MJ back up this heavily underlines it

That was bloody awful. First time I've seen us in a long time and it's like watching a team of Cids 😱

I think we're going to need a collective brew making session 2nd half. We can't put this all on Sonic to fix 😔

It was just panic stations. Sheehan was the only player reliably holding the ball and Stockport knew that and had two on him constantly.

Santos has been alright too.

Lee needs to have a word with himself. He's the only proper mid on the field now and he has to step up.

The back 4 aren’t doing great at the moment but I’d rather judge them properly when we’ve got a functioning midfield infront of them. They had to deal with a lot tonight. We’re just so open that they’re being attacked time and time again.

You’re right about panic stations. We were 2-0 up after 5 mins against a team 2 leagues below us FFS. Just play calmly and sensibly from there.

It looks like we've changed to a back three.
