What I'll be most annoyed about today is if we concede at a set piece, or two - especially if we leave a man free at the back post and/or don't pick up the midfield runner. If we do, I'll be writing to Evatt. How many times will he allow this to happen? It should've been put to bed after the Rotherham game, but there we were again on Tuesday night.
I hope I'm wrong, of course, but I can see us getting convincingly beat this afternoon, and not because Gillingham are particularly good either.

Can I co-sign? I do think we win today though. Surely there will be a reaction after two unacceptably poor performances and this weeks events? I’m sure of it.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 11:53 amWhat I'll be most annoyed about today is if we concede at a set piece, or two - especially if we leave a man free at the back post and/or don't pick up the midfield runner. The set piece issue is incredibly frustrating. Listening to a podcast someone made a good point also that we are a small team and looking at the top end of this division you need more height and power to really compete and that isn’t helpful on set pieces either. Our most adept headers are obviously sucked into the front post and penalty spot areas.

I'm hoping we have enough for a 2-1...but it does feel a bit "Grimsby"...

I think the most galling thing about tuesdays set price is it was ten minutes in, and the second one they had that caused us issues. Tight game, 20 minutes to go and someone tired let’s their runner go off a good corner you can understand but to just appear not to be even fecking drilled on the basics of defending corners from the off… you’ve another signature here!

Brocky came off at 0-2 last Saturday, which pretty much reinforces your view. Last goal at Plymouth aside, I think our defence concedes all the others, with or without Brocky.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 11:11 amNot buying that the other three were down to Brockbank. No 1, Baka heads straight to their CF, in behind. No 3 they're pretty much straight down the middle and it's not dealt with, number 4 comes from our left. 3 was just comedy defending all over.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 10:33 amBrockbank isn’t very good. But worthy is right our shambolic defence precedes him by a distance. I think Jones is a miss for the shape of our attacking play more than defensively. But just watch Wigan’s second to see why we concede too many. And Brockbank wasn’t involved in that one at all. Other three were.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 10:22 amYou sure? I can’t remember the Wigan goals - my brain has rejected the memory for its own good - but none of them came from our right side?Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 9:37 am^^ Lot of focus on Brocky, who has not acquitted himself well. But it's not like anyone can place poor defending for our last 8 conceded on the RB...if we'd had Jones there, we'd have still conceded most of 'em.
Plymouth also had a *lot* of success switching to our right, capitalising on Brocky and the frankly drowning Baptiste. Indeed, it was that hapless pair that gave the ball away for the viral third.
The worry with Brocky, bless him, is also in possession as well as our of possession - again on Tuesday he looked terrified, and that stuff spreads fast.

Four changes. Brocky out.
Isgrove RB? Back three with MJ?

Aye, seems the best possibility. With him pushing on let’s hope it helps our attack score one of those “gole” things everyone talks about.

What's the score with Jones just now?

Can't understand why Baptiste isn't at RB he's got a hundred-ish (hundreds? Not sure) appearances at RB at much higher level than this and is a superb player at this level. His lack of pace hasn't hampered him at CB so don't see why it would at RB bizarre to me but I still think we'll win. COYW!

Ian, glad you took my advice regarding Isgrove
Cracking start by Bolton. Izzy, Sheehan, John all looking lively.

FFS!!!!!
MJ can’t be losing the ball like that. He has to cop the blame for that one.

MJ Williams hang your head in shame.
Pissing about with it, loses possession they score. Colour me shocked. Bright start, pick up the gun and shoot both feet.

Haha we're comical. That is the worst defending I have ever seen.
