I'm unconvinced by the idea there's a big rift between Evatt and the players by the way. He and quite a few of the squad were out in Manchester this week. It's surely very unlikely they'd socialise together outside of work if there were problems.

We have National League level coaches (Barrow) basically coaching league 2 level players, it ain't going to improve any time soon IMO
I don't agree. Just because these guys started out with Barrow doesn't mean they are non-league level. It's be a bit like saying Jamie Vardy is a non-league striker. They are in League One on merit, having earned promotions to get there. We don't really know how good they are yet.

As to League Two players, I again don't agree. Some of them are, but most are good enough for this level and some could be better than it if they kick on. That's probably a thread on its own, though.

Evatt has plenty to hide behind if we do continue to be crap, but ultimately we knew they'd live and die by the transfer windows and the last one didn't give us enough quality - especially in attack.

I don't think there's a big rift. I think there was probably a bit of a row. That happens at most works from time to time and you just sort it out. I find it hard to imagine that the captain going hasn't had some impact on the group, which is probably why Evatt organised that night out.

Funny you should mention that...
