If we are really desperate can we not register Sam Hird as a player to fill a spot on the bench ?, or can that not be done outside of the transfer windows ?

He's probably not fit but he's only just turned 34 and played last season for Barrow and can play CB & DM - surely he could play 10-15 mins should we suffer more injuries at the back, then de-register in January.

Yes, we could register Hird if we wanted to.

MJ sees a specialist on Friday. If he needs an op he's out for 3 months at least.

Nothing else to say on that.

It;s okay, we'll go down fighting. We're down to "bear bones" according to the B.N.

I'm running out of red here. It's like the lift scene in The Shining.

So we have recalled Senior and t'other Liam, but they won't be back until a week into December. Darcy looks likely to go into the play-offs, so he wont be back until closer to Jan.

I'm sure that I've just read that Evatt is saying that Baptiste may be back for Saturday

Baps is known for being a lad who will always put himself forward to play, even when he's in real pain. Up to the club to look after him.

Entirely possible. I'm going on reports that he has a medial ligament injury, which isn't the sort of thing one can easily run off. Happy if he's back though.

Meanwhile, Senior and Edwards are being recalled from their loans - but we can't have them back till after the Fleetwood (league) game.

“We can bring them back but only after 28 days – so, with hindsight, we wouldn’t have sent them out on loan. We're having to sit tight until we can get them back but that date is December 8, or something like that, so for now we will wait.” Darcy “is end of December because they're close to the play-offs, so we get him back then. We've looked at and examined every possible option. And there's nothing we can do right now."

EDIT just noticed Ghost beat me to it, but help yourself to the quotes anyway.

Cleared a few answers up - the Senior one is frustrating given he only changed clubs the other week! Isgroves a sickener, but feeling numb Tom it all now.

The thing is, it's not like we were massively short in Edward's and Senior's positions. We just need anyone we can get now. At the time they left we were all positive to see them getting football. This has been a snowball of shite....a shitball.

We're not massively short, but we're currently shipping 3 players a week to the long term injury list!

I'll be amazed if we make it to January without more. My biggest question is how we manage the Christmas to New Year "3 in 6 days" fixtures.

Interestingly, Senior seems to consider himself a marauding right-back now.

Thats a great way of showing the injury list.

Gilks, Dixon, Gordon, Aimson, Santos, Johnston, Amaechi, Lee, Thomason, Dapo, Delf, Doyle, Kachunga (Pettifer, Henry)

We're making up quite a team on the injury table:
Isgrove, Jones, Brockbank, Baptiste, MJW, Sheehan, Tutte, Bakayoko

Can we sign Chris Eagles on a two month contract? Surely he'd be able to do a job of 30 mins here or there for cover.

It gets better when you consider that Xav, Doyle, Aimson and Lee are all under monitoring by the medical staff - either due to their recovery process or for long-standing issues. The suggestion being that none of them would ordinarily start the next match.
