IE latest interview gives very positive news on the injury front - fingers crossed.
Noises that Charles and Baxter could be ready for Saturday. I assume that Charles would only make the bench initially, but I suppose Baxter could start.

Dan Nlundulu also supposedly close, although I struggle to see him getting much/any game time before the end of the season now.

Based purely on performance, I'd be a bit miffed if I was Coleman. He's been an absolutely top keeper in Baxter's absence.
Charles will have to work to outperform the current front men.

Coleman seems a good chap but he's no Baxter. That's simply an upgrade.

Dion will probably come back through as a sub to start with. Right now we have three fit strikers, two of whom were born before the Premier League era, so he'll get his minutes to impress.

Coleman knew what he signed up for, and that was to play second fiddle behind Baxter. He wouldn't have been expecting to have figured in as many games as he has.

It genuinely seems like he's (Coleman) progressed in the last four matches. So much so that I can only think of one example where he's had some questionable goalkeeping, and even that is to be expected. So fair play to the guy.

At the start of March there was an feeling that the defence was nervous and that was in part to having Coleman in net. I don't get that impression any more. I'd expect Baxter to play if he was fit and available, but i'm not worried if Coleman starts.

I concur, Mar.

Coleman in recent weeks has shown himself to be a more than capable back-up and we should be pleased with the contributions of someone who has barely played for the past few years. I too am no longer overly concerned when he starts.

However, prior to getting injured Baxter had proven himself amongst the best keepers in the division, if not the best, so as soon as he's fit he comes back in.

I think keeper for keeper, there's not a lot in it. I do think we look a chunk more shaky as a defensive unit with Coleman - just a little less trusting and maybe more likely to concede, but not particularly unhappy with either. Think Coleman had a pretty poor start - but that can happen when you've been not needed for best part of 4/5 months.

Coleman has done ok recently but there's still one mental thing at least a game, and a few other ropey bits. I don't think you can really expect more from someone who's not expected to play much at this level, so fair play to him, but Bax is rightly back in as soon as he's fit.

I agree not much between them, however Coleman is capable of the odd rash moment where he comes charging out with no possibility of getting the ball.

I'd say that was accurate a few weeks ago, but i've not seen evidence of it lately. Almost like he's become aware of it and made steps not to do it. Either that or our defence has solidified and made it less of a decision that Coleman has to make.

Either way, all positive signs from Coleman.

He’s benefitting from a run in the team…not sure he would be playing in the play offs for me mind! But he’s proving himself a decent squad player, and he’s a local lad - what’s not to like?

He did it at least twice on Monday! He's fine as back up, and I'm glad for him as a local lad you got ridiculous stick from the nob heads, but he's miles away from Bax.

Getting better with each game, Baxter. However, he’s miles behind Baxter and if Baxter’s good to play, he has to.

Dion Charles. What the hell has happened here? He looked like he didn’t want to get injured when he came on tonight, not like a player who wanted to get back in the side. Nlundulu threw himself straight into it. Charles just hid.

That’s surely his last Bolton game then. Shame.

Not that we heard it that much though.

Been an ok player for us and had some moments, but been totally underwhelming since coming back from his injury. EFL Trophy reserve games aside. I can't see us offering him an extension.

Cheers JD and all the best

He’s actually been fit for longer this season than others I think. But it’s what, 3 league goals? Was a mistake last summer, let alone next.

With JDB and Jerome gone in the summer next season we'd start with four strikers anyway, five if you include CMG.
