Think that was always on the cards, just as he'd starting bagging a few goals too! :-(

That’s a feck* on Lee. That being said two months ago that post would have resulted in a lot of gnashing of teeth and wailing, we’ve planned for his absence I think. Time for Sadlier!

Probably best placed here.

Lee is set for surgery, but may be back before the end of the season.

Evatt on Izzy and Kacha: “They’re improving every day. I would think by the middle of next month they will be ready to go. And obviously Kieran (Lee) should be back by the end of the month.”

Evatt: “Kacha has got a good chance to be involved on Saturday if I see the things that I saw on Thursday and Friday. Kacha is a senior player now, he’s nearly 30 so he knows his body better than anyone. We’ll have an honest and open discussion. We’ll see where he is at and where he feels he is at, and then make decisions from that.”

Evatt on Isgrove: “He’s doing really well. He’s back running. He’s probably two to three weeks behind Kacha but I would think by the end of the month he’ll be back in with the group."

BN:
Evatt confirmed, however, that Afolayan has been carrying a groin injury and that Kyle Dempsey – also nursing a similar problem – will not be back until next weekend.

“Dapo is an important player and we will manage him the best we can,” he added. “I think it became more and more sore as the (Morecambe) game went on, so we will have to see how that goes for Saturday now.”
Gillingham over-negotiated that non-appearance clause….

Dapo hasn't look great in that number 10 role generally, but if he's been carrying an injury then maybe that offers some explanation. Strong argument for starting Sadlier there on Saturday.

As long as everyone's alright with it. Look what happened last time we rested a half-fit No.10 against Plymouth...

Last time around the only explanation is that He was not alright with it. Sodden and Gomorrah.

I think he’d probably get a better move than Stockport, although talk this morning of Fulham seems fanciful.

This - absolutely. I love the way Sadlier looks to carry the ball forward and he's deserving of his opportunity, whether or not Afolayan's carrying a knock.

Feels a bit coincidental that we're after Marlon, no? :-)

feck, feck, feck!

Marlon Fossey will miss the remainder of the season.

Ever the optimist: on the plus side - if there is one with this news - does that increase our chances of securing him for next season and not losing him to someone else do we think?

Probably - but that’s on the basis that it reinforces the view that he is injury prone. The whole basis for this thread was how many injuries we’ve accumulated at crucial points this season.

Interesting innit. Going back to Megson's tiara (a bloke whose football I never want to see the like of again), have we just been terribly unlucky or is there a bit more to it in respect of the "injury prone" tag? You wouldn't want a squad with 6 Mavies's in it (although if you did, one might be fit at any point in time)...

Dunno, because I guess it means that he goes back to them for treatment and rehab now, whereas the optimist in me would like him to have completely escaped their attention.

Be interesting to know how the lad feels about his future right now. This is a real sickener.

It’s absolutely gutting. I suppose the only mild consolation is it’s happened after our run ends and our chance went. So it doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things in terms of results. But sad we won’t see him again this season as his impact on us has been absolutely immense and for me he’s out there as the best player I’ve watched at Bolton Wanderers in years.

Ah well. Was really looking forward to see how good he’d be away at Wigan where I assume we will be counter punching.

This definitely increases our chances of signing him. He’s unfortunately quite clearly injury prone, with some serious injuries during his time at Fulham.

https://www.starsandstripesfc.com/usmn ... nd-call-up

I’m not sure he’s one you can rely on him to play 40+ games a season. He’d have to be managed through a season - not playing Sat, Tue, Sat etc.

Think this’ll put off quite a few Championship teams.

Just a case of whether we want to take on that risk.
