Not the only Wanderers..v Wycombe away 20-Nov 3-O clock.
A result is desperately needed on this Eve of Adam's Park. (sorry ) . After that shambolic show at Stockport. we need to be the one and only Wanderers again. Can we get a fighing eleven back on track. Let's have some McGinlay spirit...Get at it...

This will be a heavy loss IMO regardless of the poor run that Wycombe have been on - I would suspect 3-0 Wycombe at least.

Aye, I think we knew what to expect (I'm just going to call it) midweek. I'd be very surprised if Wycombe weren't being told how we cracked under decent pressure...GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 9:37 amLet's hope it's the genesis of a.....just shoot me.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Fri Nov 19, 2021 9:29 amAye, well we've had the Cain, now we need to prove we're Able...
We don't have to change "ethos", just stand up and be counted.

I'm off to this one with the Mighty Flanners. As has been noted, perhaps a good thing the team plays away after Stockport – away fans tend to be more supportive, less entitled. (That's not just BWFC, BTW; it's common among all teams.) I'll be cocking a keen ear to the sounds of the supporters.
On the pitch, it could be anything. Wycombe are wobbling like Akinfenwa's stomach – last six in all comps DLDLLL, including four straight home losses – shipping four at home to Ipswich then five to Burton (albeit in the Sherpa Sh!tshow), then losing two successive games 0-1. However, they are also a powerful direct team, and we're demonstrably awful at dealing with those. You get the feeling the first goal will be crucial, even if Wycombe have twice thrown away leads in that six-game spell (including a two-goal lead at Fleetwood).
What we do for an XI is in the lap of the medics. You have to imagine (and hope) MJ will be patched up and sent out, but Sheehan may be out a while, meaning we're down to three central midfielders. There are at least bodies to choose from in attack, even if Delf and Amaechi looked as woeful as the rest at Edgeley Park. That might suggest a 4-2-3-1, perhaps with Dapo at 10, and possibly Baka wide if Doyle has recovered. I'm not suggesting any of this is necessarily the best way to win at Wycombe; right now we're having trouble finding 11 players who can stand up and face the right way.
There's a chance Evatt will revert to the back three, as he did in extremis on Wednesday. That might actually help the centre-backs, and could arguably suit John and Isgrove more than being full-backs, but again could leave our midfield thin. And if it doesn't work, it leaves Brand Evatt looking worryingly tarnished.

Can't see anything other than a disappointing result. Conceding soft goals slightly against the run of play and they'll go home taking some positives because we played nicer sideways passes and the odd diag

Belief is huge. They are on a bad run, but our display against Stockport will have given them so much confidence facing us.
If we can use that 4-4-2 block we had against Crewe and isolate their fullbacks when we go forward they will brick themselves; but that relies on being able to do basic defending.
If they could choose one team in the whole league to play tomorrow it would be.....well, it would be Crewe; but we are close second.
Dapo owes us a wonder goal.

I should say isolate their wide defenders, I suppose, as it's a 3-at-the-back. Regardless, they are crap defending wide areas.

Aye, we've scored 10 in our last four games, so at least we're only half-shit now

Struggling with this one, think Baps needs to play for a bit of leadership/experience. But yeah, Injnow.
Anyway it’s not a bad one, there’s decent feeling between the two clubs and a link with the owners as well - https://www.wycombewanderers.co.uk/news ... ll-smiles/
Get it out of the way and on to the more important home games.

The trouble is if anyone says any of the rest need to play I have the same reaction. Get him in. At least he'll kick someone.

Panic fannying of the highest order.
3-1 win to the Wanderers. Which one? time will tell.

I'll be there. Won't be anything like that first time. Think we've got a sightly better chance of getting a result this time.

My next away day is Accy on the 11th. Jealous of the the lads going down.
Evatt seems to be intending to play a high line today, which will hopefully keep them up the pitch a bit. If they pin us back and drop it on us we're in bother.
Struggling to put an 11 out doesn't sound promising, but it is what it is.

England v South Africa at egg-chasing, kicks off 15 minutes after this. It might be a bad day.
I'm not sure a poor result would surprise as many as DJB's 3-1, Whites. I'm a bit concerned if we get a poor one, that there won't be much love at the Macron, next time out, which wouldn't be at all helpful.

No, we almost need to forget about today and let them have a free hit. Next two home games are massive and we need to get behind them. If we can manage 10 points before January that will do for me.
