MJ is our only midfield player. In January we need to sign another two like him. Without question or failure. Because we need presence and cover there. Number of weak options can go too. Centre backs need fixing too. And cover for Jones. Mad how light in key areas we have left ourself.

Tutte shouldn’t be here. Baka and Doyle aren’t likely to be serious,

Either way if you only have one midfield player you leave yourself open. And it’s not like people didn’t consistently say this through the summer and then in August and September. Even when the going was good it was mentioned time after time that MJ would break down with the work he was doing because the others can’t or are too weak.

It was entirely predictable and only feels so bad because we naively left ourselves in this state.

Of course but we’ve left ourselves well short of coping through a physical league. We did the same last year and MJ and other additions saved the day. I doubt that can be repeated but need to strengthen.

The manager must know he’s gotten this wrong and surely there is work to fix it.
