I have no time for vaccine scepticism. But I suppose if I was a healthy young 23 year old trying to break through into league one or indeed the very pinnacle of the game, would I think that getting a jab (that is safe but obviously has some side effects in rare cases) is worth it? I'd probably feel invulnerable to a virus and less keen to inject myself with something that has a one in a million chance of making me ill or whatever. So I sort of can see it. You also tend to draw footballers in some cases from the communities more likely to be covid-deniers or vaccine sceptics.
Its a big problem and the message that I don't think has been played on enough is that this is community protection. You aren't protecting yourself you are feeding the wider herd immunity that weakens the virus.
The other problem now is the vaccine passport etc message is counter-intuitive to some degree given the virus seemingly evades it - and yes they will eventually add a booster jab to the requirement but for now having two doses doesn't make much difference yet lets you go anywhere. And that's feeding into this sort of conspiracy nonsense about the establishment and pharmaceutical companies just conning us. That sort of mindset probably exists across football in pockets too.

My fault entirely H.G. I ve' been re-reading Pride and Prejudice for the umpteenth time, and the villain is called George Whickham.. My punishment is now to alter them all..Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Tue Dec 14, 2021 2:04 pmAm I missing a joke or reference to why we're spelling Wycombe as Whickham in the title? We've blamed defeats in the past on incorrect titles!
Edited with due apologies..

1-1 draw for me which wouldn't be the worst result in the world.

Bakayoko is “in Evatt’s thoughts”, says Iles, for Saturday. As in, could play - Iles even says could start.

It’s our cancellation as well so there must be more than Aimson positive now. Could do for Boxing Day as well, which will be a kick in the balls for the finances.

Can't see any midweek gams now either; may be quite a while as it sounds really serious. Health has to come first.

Can't say I'm surprised nor bothered. A blessing in disguise perhaps?
Re: Quo Vadis. Home V Wycombe Wanderers Sat 18-12-21 3'oclock.
Definitely seems like a blessing in disguise. Although i'd much prefer us to get back to winning ways with the depleted squad rather than wait for them to come back fit and ready to go.
I'm a bit torn regarding boxing days match too. On the one hand it'd be nice for it to be on and for us to watch the match but its not every year footballers get a few days with their family. Maybe giving them boxing day off might actually help alleviate some of the pressure they've been under.

So, do they all have to self isolate for 10 days now?

Only the ones who have the rona.
The rest of them are under ‘red’ measures (as is the rest of the FL as of today). Which means no showering at training, getting changed together, eating together, two separate match day buses etc…

Quite glad it's off personally. I'd have missed it anyway as Mrs LE has the Rona and I'm not a completely selfish bellend!

Hear you, but however, if I was that rare-as-hens-teeth breed of healthy young 23 year trying to break through into league one who happened to have anything more than 1 /10 of a brain, I'd be getting the jab like a shot, for fear of catching the rona and it having a debilitating effect on my health in the medium to long term which would severely impact my chances.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Dec 14, 2021 3:22 pmI have no time for vaccine scepticism. You only Nedd to look at the likes of Doyle and Gilks since they had it to see what it can apparently do.
