The likes of me? I think he’s wank. Think you’ve confused me with those who try and tell me he’s good.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 4:46 pmSantos is our worse CB since Cid. What could constitues a "decent position" for a Bolton free kick? Our ability at some of the basics is awful.

Decent effort in the circumstances, but we continue to be our own biggest downfall.

Had that chance. Wasted it. Better than we all feared, but a loss is a loss.

Two in fact. Gah. They're the best team in the league. Obviously can't be happy but given I had money on them with a 4 goal handicap that was better than expected.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 4:40 pmIf we can keep it at 2-1 there's always going to be that one chance. Let's see how we go.

Haha fecking hell, we’ll a closely fought defeat- I would have taken it before the game with the team we put out. Doyler look like he were off?

Never mind eh. It could have been worse. A lot worse.

Well the scoreline could've been worse, but it was as we all expected points-wise.
Just caught up with the thread, which briefly turned into a shit episode of Top Gear.
And had an amusing pun about Goodyear lined up but scrolled down and Worthy had already used it.
Git.

I'm counting that as +3 goal difference from what I expected!LeverEnd wrote: ↑Sat Jan 01, 2022 5:23 pmWell the scoreline could've been worse, but it was as we all expected points-wise.

Yet another closely fought game for Bolton against the top sides with nothing to show for it. Harsh one to take given the final opportunities.

Admiral Lord Nelson was less one-eyed than today's ref. Where do they get them from? To beat Bolton, just jump all over them, refs won''t bother. We expected to lose, possibly heavily, so 1-2's a plus (if getting beat and earning no points can be called a plus), But for a great one-handed save by Nixon ( has a goalie ever got two yellows/1 red card for time-wasting?, he's foolishly heading that way) and two frantic demonstrations of St Vitus Dance in the last five minutes, we might even have had Yorkshire declare another War of the Roses on us by winning the game. Oh, we wouldn't have deserved it, granted but you take what's given...
Kachunga needs to start believing in himself, and Dapo isn't a one-man team. Doyle takes the blame for being isolated up front and I still think with support around him he's capable of better. Let's hope our new lad makes a difference. Some of our passing was Boys Fed stuff and us having throw-ins is just a waste of time.
Two of the finest winners of headers I ever saw scoring from free kicks and crosses, Jurgen Klinsman and Dennis Law, were hardly Mr Universe types, they just knew when to jump for the ball, sooner rather than later. We could take lessons. Once again we were fighting up hill and couldn't guard a result. It has to improve. Thankfully, we won't play league leaders every week.
Onward and upwards...
