Jesus. In fairness to the poor lad, that was merely the latest of many simple six-yard passes that didn’t find its mark. 95% of the previous being all George’s.

How did Charles do?
Couple of bright moments. Other than that anonymous. Offers little outside the box on tonight’s showing. Not sure he really improves us on Doyle.
 you shock me. Almost like you've made your mind up beforehand!

You're right on tonight, but he's had an hour after no football.
I mean sure. Over time I hope considering we paid a considerable fee he offers us the hold up play and contribution outside the box we clearly lack from Doyle. I mean as we’ve paid this fee I assume it’s what will happen. But tonight he did not.

Six yard passes are all well and good when we've got time to turn the match around. Giving the opposition a free goal so we go one down with 5 minutes to go isn't. Maybe the cue should be don't pass across the back nearing the end of the match.

Second half has been terrible and looking like its gonna be won by an absolute fk up. Why are we passing it around at the back when we're 1-0 down with barely any time left.

For all the Brand Evatt nonsense the football we play is incredibly boring and painful to watch at times. It’s certainly not edge of the seat stuff.

Needs rethinking as this style is absolutely holding us back.

Oh and Dixon isn’t going to be a keeper for a promotion chasing league one side. He just isn’t.

Chris Markham needs to get a grip of this keeper situation

Set pieces really are a joke. Into added time. Take one short where we're 2v2 so Dapo off a standing start hacks a nothing ball into the box. How is that a benefit on just crossing it?!

Every ball is the variation ball.

We looked a bit suspect and prone to conceding a soft goal, I thought it was gonna come from Santos' dawdling on the ball too long and not from Dixon.

One last free kick. Get everyone in the box....!

I think we might get one of those rare "consensus" things there!

Out we go. Pretty piss second half.

Add it to the list of Evatt embarrassments. Hartlepool reserves beat our first team.

Ran out of ideas and ran out of effort. The same players who were up for Saturday dropped heads tonight. Cold night, windy pitch in a shithole of a ground. We need to sign some steel; or we’ll lose the battle. Four points off the relegation zone!

Well that wasn't in the script!
Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!

Once again we don’t have the players to suit anything close to how Evatt wants to play. We need to go front to back far quicker as we can’t break teams down as we have no drive in midfield.

Again Evatt insists on the more boring sideways football and we create nowt and if we are honest are one of the most boring teams to watch I can remember. Football is about intensity and ball in the box moments. Chances. Last ditch defending. What we are doing is a disservice to the sport. Sideways, backwards, slow slow slower. Oh give it away, panic at the back. Slow, slow, slow.

It just isn’t good. It’s dull. Negative and uninspired. I’d rather watch paint dry. Have a bloody go. Or hit on the counter. Or anything that isn’t the predictably slow, strangulation of any enjoyment I could have for this sport.
