I'd say not, no. The club's absolutely shocking when it comes to marketing itself. This game truly should be plastered all over town. We're an absolute dead duck when it comes to marketing ourselves. Don't we have someone who's responsible for this kind of thing?GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 10:54 amWhat's the outreach like in town these days? Is the club visible in Bolton? Ads, events, that sort of thing?Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 10:52 amAye, I was chatting with Our Kid this morning about the same thing. Seriously, mate, I fecking despair if we can't get our dander up for this game!

People walking through the town centre wouldn't know the club existed. It has no presence there at all.
The current ownership has taken steps to to address this, with signage referring to Bolton being the home of the club being erected around the border of the town, but a handful of strategically placed billboards could be an avenue worth exploring.

That's been an issue ever since we moved home. Needs sorting.nicholaldo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 11:32 amPeople walking through the town centre wouldn't know the club existed. It has no presence there at all.

Nothing mate. Not a bean There used to be a club shop in one of the indoor centres, but that went years ago when we got relegated - There used to be pop up stalls selling tickets etc, but absolutely nothing. If you went into Bolton town centre, you wouldn't think the town had a football clubGhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 10:54 amWhat's the outreach like in town these days? So, I don't know how many of you know Ivan, who plays the stadium tunes. Ivan, truly is one of life's most fantastic chaps. I've asked him to play this at half time. I hope he does And if any of you fancy getting into a balls-out rock and roll band from Cumbria, then this is your calling!

Mrs G was only saying last week how good the music has been at the ground lately. Shed 7, Lottery Winners and The Killers all getting lots of airplay latelyBruce Rioja wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 12:50 pmSo, I don't know how many of you know Ivan, who plays the stadium tunes. Mate, you and Mrs G get tickets for Right to Roam as soon as you can. Lottery Winners are headlining, but mate, if you never believe another word I tell you, get to see 'John'. I saw them at Green Man last year and that one band/duo, who absolutely fecking blew me away? Yeah, that was 'John' How two guys can make a racket quite like it is totally beyond belief. Absolutely outstanding!Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 1:05 pmMrs G was only saying last week how good the music has been at the ground lately. Wonder how much comment is going on at Makem land seeing our staff changes. Can we give them a shock and win this one? I reckon we might, so COME ON YOU WHITES...

I’d take a point now, but three would be massive and psychologically, potentially huge for us as a team as we enter the run in. I still think we’ll finish 10th, but a win tomorrow could make for a very exciting three and a half months!

I’d take a point now

I'd genuinely not. Off the back of two wins and at home. It's us, so we can obviously cock it up; but I think we have a good chance here.
[/quote]
A point would be a good result but I’d not take it now. Might as well try and win. A point is neither here nor there right now. Win games. See what happens.

Blimey! If Mrs G thinks that's good music, I'll do her a mixtape. Little Simz, Wet Leg and Yard Act.
Oh, and it'll be 1-1. That's a decent point against the team currently second.

What is the weather down there? A bit blowy up here (87mph gusts). If you've similar it'll make for an interesting game!

A cold raw day with a bit of a breeze (that might be an understatement). It won't deter the Makem support because they are real die-hards. Wonder what's being discussed by Mr Evatt right now as to what our line-up will be? No doubt a few will be champing at the bit to get amongst it, but who will get the nod? Personally I'm hoping Sadlier gets an airing because he's a goal scorer and they're a bit rare as butterflies right now. .

Two games ago we were 3 points off 21st. That's now 5. We still need wins...

We've had a tree come down across the only access road. Not currently safe to go out with the chainsaw and remove it. Looks like I might miss this one.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 9:48 amWhat is the weather down there? A bit blowy up here (87mph gusts).
