It was bad but it wasn't close to the pantheon. Dean Holdsworth can sleep easy.
Nick Hunt had a few each game where I wasn't sure how he missed the net. It was our own net, mind.

I make him the third Sunderland manager to get sacked after a defeat against us.

We did Lee Johnson in. They've sacked him.
😂😂funny isn’t it - they’ve let him sign those players this month and we’re pretty confident coming to our place, totally turned on its head. Pretty sure it wouldn’t have happened the other way round.

Would be interesting if they offered the job to Evatt.

They've had BSA & Parky, might as well complete the set.

Not saying he'd go, but he would absolutely believe he'd take them up this season. With their squad and league position, plus Evatt's ego, he'd believe he could win the league.

And if he didn’t he’d be out of a job.

I’ve seen Evatt with players he hasn’t picked or even ones he’s had who he has decided aren’t perfect.

I’m far from convinced he’d take them up. I’m sure he would think he would do so. But we’ve seen Sunderland. They’ve only had one successful manager who their fans liked in the last decade. Big Sam.

Not sure about that.
It takes Evatt a few months to get a team to play his way, and he knows it.
Sunderland (fans and board) are so impatient that he would be gone before then.

Best thing for Evatt's career would be a near miss this year followed by promotion next year.
Then he would be on plenty of shortlists

I think Evatt probably thinks this is the best place for him right now and may well be for some time. He would think he'd take Sunderland up, though.

Perfect choice for Sunderland would be Leam Richardson. Oh how we’d laugh.

Watched the 'Inside Matchday' thing on YouTube the club produces.

The bit at the end when the kids are asking for dion's shirt, he then takes it off and throws it to some lad behind them. Then a cut showing the kid in the red jacket's face.

Poor lad but actually cackled with laughter.

At the risk of souring the mood a little, has anyone a clip of Lee's miss? I still haven't seen it and I'm told it needs to be seen to be believed 😊
Oh. I remember saying "how the fcuk has he missed that?" In the first half up t'other end IIRC....couldn't see who it was tbf...

Edit, it's the second clip on the ifollow extended highlights...up there, certainly
FECKING BOOOOOOOOO!

Think we'll let him off as the one he scored topped off the best move of the game.

It's difficult to see on the normal highlights just how good Lee's flick into Dapo's path was, for the second. On the Inside Matchday, the camera is behind the Sunderland goal. It's sublime and absolutely makes it.

Also I'm still gushing at Charles' finish for the third...

North East clubs may be passionate, but they're also impatient and unrealistic. If their team loses it's "Off with his head" for somebody or other (usually the manager). They never give credit to the opposition being the better team on the day (Saturday a classic example)..No new thing.
