100%. Regardless of the division we are in next season we will be in much better shape than we have been in any other window as we go into the summer.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Feb 19, 2022 11:45 amYou'd still prefer to be doing it in July/Aug and making adjustments earlier though? We couldn't but surely as manager you'd rather to be able to do that? Which makes the task post Jan harder and in March harder still?
I wasn't judging its chance of success, but rather suggesting if we miss out, then getting in early for next season is a benefit, for what is a better, settled squad, which is something we haven't had in forever.
Obviously there's loads to do on the defence and we will still look for top quality anywhere else we can get it, but if we can get them drilled properly over the next dozen games we should be able to start strongly next season.

Time to put all else aside (including the snow) and, team selection regardless, just give it our best shot. As ever on match day. COME ON YOU WHITES..
Just score one goal more than Wimbledon and that'll do (mind you, a clean sheet 3-0 would be very nice)

It's the team I expected and the one I'd have started.
Hopefully we get the three points.

Still no reserve keeper, which is more than a bit dodgy, me thinks?

He did it lots last season and started again at Oxford last Saturday. I can sort of see the point generally – more options - but I'm not sure we need both Aimson and Baptiste on the bench, as we have had for the last two Saturdays.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Sat Feb 19, 2022 2:06 pmStill no reserve keeper, which is more than a bit dodgy, me thinks?

God bless her. Maybe she'll show the males a thing or two about football too.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Feb 19, 2022 2:59 pmIlesy saying the ref offered to help shovel snow. Good on her.

Couple early goals of relevance.
Ipswich, who started the day 3pts above us, have immediately gone 1-0 up at home to Burton, who started 2pts below us. Not good.
Wycombe (started 5th) losing at home to Cheltenham and thus slip to 7th. Tight league.

I was thinking it was too early for watching the results of others. Maybe its about the right time. Either way I think it's in our hands to make something of this season.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Feb 19, 2022 3:06 pmCouple early goals of relevance.

That being said, Bolton currently against a side without a win in 2 month and we're looking good so far. Morley and Dempsey standing out with some good moments.

Yeah, I'm certainly not at the point - as I have been in most recent seasons - of setting up alerts for goals for/against our nearest rivals. Not yet. Just thought I'd mention it as I'm sat at-desk.

Definitely a penalty. Kicked the ankles, FFS. Ref's had a good game so far but completely missed the pen call there. When's the last time we got a penalty? Doyler...Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Feb 19, 2022 3:24 pmYeah, I'm certainly not at the point - as I have been in most recent seasons - of setting up alerts for goals for/against our nearest rivals.
