The play-offs are upon us - Wycombe-McDons in the Culture Clash tonight, Sunderland-Wednesday in the Hubris Face-Off tomorrow (return legs Sun & Mon).

Who do you think will win?
Purely for you, who do you want to win?
Who do you want to win to get out of our way for next year?

For me, that's
(1) Wednesday - they seem to have the spirit
(2) McDons - I don't like the club but I like the football and I dislike the others too
(3) Wednesday - I think they would be the strongest of the four next season
1) Anyones guess. Have a feeling it might be Sunderland.
2) Wycombe because they are a nicer club than the other three.
3) Any of the three other than Wycombe as they’d be more problematic next season.

I very much want Sunderland and their spending power out of this division if possible. They have a decent coach now plus the money and that's a bad combination for us next term.

You say they’ve got the money….

He couldn’t even manage to buy out the previous owners…and tried to cover it up….

I’m less than convinced.

If I were to have a fiver then it'd be going on MK Dons. A marvellously consistent side in recent months. Certainly showed us the minimum requisite level for next season.

And yet curiously passive tonight at Wycombe - lost 0-2, just one shot on target and only 52% possession, which is odd considering these two are normally at opposite ends of that table.

I’m guessing you hadn’t seen the result of the 1st leg when you posted this

I hate how they play, but their manager isn't stupid. MK beat them 3 times this season by dominating the ball. Each game MK have had progressively less possession as Wycombe try to stop giving them the chance to play by retaining the ball and picking their direct options a bit more carefully.

It was (MK score first):

1-0 (79% - 21%)
2-1 (57% - 43%)
1-0 (54% - 46%)
0-2 (52% - 48%)

The first game was something like 24 shots to 7 or something silly. Since then Wycombe have led on shots in each of the three subsequent games.

I wouldn't yet. There's a siege going on in the new town.

They survived - Wycombe off to Wembley. Wonder what this means for MK.

They have a lot of work to do in the summer. They're a good side, but Twine is why they made top 6. They will also lose Parrott.

My daughter wants me to add in this emoji :Jedi: It is unrelated to my reply, but she's happy.

Most likely. MK never announced the length of his deal, but the suggestion was 4 years. If that's right they will either get silly money or let him try and get them up. You'd image the former is most likely.

If he signed on for 3 years then they will actively look to sell.

Not a chance he’s playing in League One next season. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a mid-table PL team take a punt on him tbh.

I could definitely see Brentford.

Next time I see you, owd toot, I'll tell you all about when I was working for one of the world's most recognised brands, and whose UK HQ was based in MK, and my plans for setting up a footie club there. Of course, I had neither the money nor the self belief.

You don't think the second tightest defence, mighta helped them some, too? :-)

Absolutely. They're a very good side, but the player who made them a fantastic side for so long was Twine. You look at Ipswich or Plymouth with similar defensive records and put Twine in their sides and (although they're not as good generally as MK Dons) they make the play offs and Dons don't.
