This will be a big test for the Whites aspirations. Lets hope its not blighted by dubious refereeing decisions.
Interested to note that MK Dons filed their 2021 accounts a couple of weeks ago. £2.8million operating loss mitigated by a £2.1million profit on player sales.
It will be interesting to compare the numbers with FV when we get to see those. There seem to be some similarities in the set up except that MK Dons is 100% owned by property developer Pete Winkelman via the Stadium MK Group Ltd.

P.S. Stadium MK Group got £2million from the government's Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme.

I saw some figure yesterday that showed while we'd gained something like 15 points on Sunderland since New Year's day, in that time we've only made 1 up on MK. I hadn't realised they'd been having their own good run.TonyDomingos wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 6:24 pmHarry Genshaw wrote: ↑Thu Feb 24, 2022 9:22 pmA point would be great against who are probably the 3rd best side in the division.
MKD fan in peace?
Got to be at our best today!

Correct me if I'm wrong here but that period ran 1/4/20 - 31/3/21?
See, looking at their player sales then the only ones of note are;
Season 20/21. One player to Toulouse £450k and one player to Charlton £200k
Then, Season 21/22, One player to Celtic £1.62m.
I'm just curious as to why they've shoehorned the latter sale into the arse end of 21's figures?
May the bridges I burn light your way

Blimey, didn’t realise McDons have only lost one in 12. Their squad does look very good for this level n’all, so I’m starting to think a point would be a more than decent result for us.
They do, however, have a 37 year old centre back, which sounds like a pretty favourable match up for Charles to me.

MK Dons make their annual accounts up to 30 June, as do BWFC and most other football clubs. It means the accounting periods don't conflict with the football seasons.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 9:41 amCorrect me if I'm wrong here but that period ran 1/4/20 - 31/3/21?

The actual proceeds from player sales were £2.36million with a profit of £2.1million after deducting the net book values.
MK Dons aim is to try to remain competitive whilst controlling wage costs. Their declared strategy is to invest in younger players. It seems to be working quite well for them at the minute.

Our last 10 form is a point better...We know this is going to be a toughie. We got a point at home - either luckily with Baps last minute toe poke or deservedly, if you think we shot ourselves in the foot with at least two of their goals. At this stage, they're not 3rd by accident. But I think we believe we'd be at least a place or two higher had we not had all the injuries and covid in Nov/Dec. In the last 10 run, we've scored double the goal tally (25 v 12) but conceded a few more (8 v 5). Their wins have all been by the odd goal bar Charlton (2-0). So they're sort of doing what we did this time last year - lot of 1-0's and 2-1's.The_Gun wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 9:50 amBlimey, didn’t realise McDons have only lost one in 12. In general, last season, Evatt got us spot on for the must wins and six pointers (couple of slip ups spring to mind)
The way we're playing I wouldn't expect us to go anywhere after one point but wouldn't be the end of the world if that's what we ended up with. I think catching MKD would be a stretch. So if pressed, I'd rather lose this one and take 3 points from Plymouth/Sheff Weds at home.
Unleash shock and awe, Whites....

Odd. It sometimes helps if I log out of my iFollow account and then use an incognito session in Google Chrome (or just a different browser, I guess).Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 12:31 pmCheers buddy - I'll try again shortly. Glad Santos is back because I reckon our defence will be key to things today. Keep em out of our box and wait for the breaks. Not sure where the Dons strengths lie, but form says they are pretty solid all round. Hope Dapo has shaken a bit of his lethargy off, because he wasn't on fire Tuesday. Anyway..COME ON YOU WHITES..

Getting more an more anxious as the day goes on with regards to this fixture. On the face of it we should do okay given we're the in form team in the league but if we're harbouring serious chances of contesting the top spots then we need a win. In terms of playoffs we could lose this and theoretically not have a massive impact but any points here would be a massive boon towards the playoff objectives.

Good to be anxious Mar. Maybe cautious instead rather than cocky. So many facets to this one, but we're a decent side and I'm hoping for a win.Mar wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 1:03 pmGetting more an more anxious as the day goes on with regards to this fixture. I was worried earlier but now 3 beers in at Milton Keynes village and oddly, I'm supremely confident
This game wont define our season but a win would certainly put the wind up the pack we're chasing.

It's just nice to put it in context, win or lose this one is not a defining moment in our season. Hopefully that'll be enough for us to actually enjoy it and make the most of the match.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Sat Feb 26, 2022 1:23 pmGood to be anxious Mar. Maybe cautious instead rather than cocky.
