Twitter (or any other social medium) is like the telly or the internet or the printing press: it's a platform. What you get from it depends which content you look at.

I find Twitter can be a wonderful source of information, education and entertainment. If someone's a size-nine c**t I don't follow their feeds. Same as if someone in the pub was being a c**t I wouldn't pull up a chair for a conversation.

What’s the deal with guy who owns them? Am I right in thinking it’s a Bahraini- why Wigan? Just cheap at the time? They certainly stabilised a lot quicker than I expected them to, or is this just a false dawn? I’ve said before but I think Leam Richardsons got better jobs in him than this one.

Their No. 10 will do for us tomorrow, chiefly at set-pieces. A 4-0 dicking for us, I'm afraid. Totally domed! Boo, get off, Brittan out etc.

Jesus. We have no pressure. The result doesn’t matter. We will play with freedom and come away with a 2-2 draw.

Thinking about the available personnel, I'd be minded to revert to four at the back. I reckon it makes better use of the squad we have at our disposal at present.

Trafford

Jones Santos Aimson John

MJ Morley

Dempsey

Charles Dad Bod Dapo

Raises an interesting point, this: Does Evatt drop Johnston against his old team? Would be something of a climbdown for both men. But if it's the best thing to do – and I can see the logic - then the club must come first...

(Even if we stay back three, there's an argument as to whether Johnston or Aimson is a better bet on the left - if Gethin's at RCB, although that then leaves a hole at RWB...)

At our place Wigan’s high press completely negated the front three in this system as we struggled to get out.

I’m not convinced it will work there either nor that Charles is suited to playing out on the right of a front three given it will away at Wigan involve a considerable amount of defensive work too. I think he will use too much energy going backwards when we want that on the shoulder of their centre halves.

I’d stick with three at the back and it’s a question as to whether Jones plays CB or RWB and if centre back then who plays wing back. I’d probably leave Sadlier there and drop Jones into the back three. It’s a shame Lee isn’t fit enough as he would make a huge difference in the number 10 position. I think I’d go with your midfield but have Dapo and Charles up top.

I don't think Evatt will do this, but I'd be tempted...

Trafford

Jones, MJ, Santos, Aimson, John
Dempsey Morley
Sadlier
Charles Dad Bod.

I can see the point of Dad Bod and Charles up point as they are both hardy enough and Wigan won't be handing out candy-floss in the tackles, but would you bring Dapo on later or Baka? Baka may best option because if Dapo gets injured it may cost us dearly later? It's a tentative question...?

I guess it would all depend on the state of the match. I certainly would like to bring both on at some point. :-)

I think v Wigan (a), the ball's more likely to stick with Dad Bod than Baka and we'll need some control and ability to get out of our area.

Dapo hasn't convinced me as a 10, but would like his pace later in the game.

Of course if we're 3 down after 60 mins, it won't matter.

I suppose Jones at right-centre-back and Sadlier at right-wing-back could prove to be a successful combination but I think I'd also rather us start with a back four than go with the recent 3-5-2.

Accommodating a back three currently means playing both our leading goalscorer and potentially our most exciting winger in positions which neither are particularly suited to or appear comfortable in. It's unnecessarily stifling. And if we go with Aimson on the right of the back three with Jones at right-wing-back, just forget it. Aimson simply can't do what Jones does in that role.

Having watched MJ in a back 3 for 'Dale and watched him get run one-on-one for us, the idea of him as a CB for us is terrifying. Here's hoping he amazes me if we try it.

Aye but being shit as a defender isn't a problem for us. The players in front will stop anything reaching him :-)

Interesting team. No Dec John at all so I think he’s gone 4 at the back with Johnston left back.
Charles up top flanked by Dapo and Sadlier, Kachunga in behind (or a variation thereof). MJ/Morley Centre mids. No keeper on bench!

Trafford
Jones
Santos
Aimson
Johnston
Sadlier
Williams
Morley
Afolayan
Kachunga
Charles

Is the line up. Not entirely sure of the formation though, could be 4-3-3 or the usual 5 at the back with Sadlier LWB and Jones RWB

Whatever team the Pies were expecting, it's probably not this one :-)
