At every restart we had four across the back. That’s very wonky :D
Both our 4s and 5s at the back take very similar shapes at times. Slightly different shapes, same general approach and patterns.

Yeah he wasn't happy. I don't mind him wanting it but that always screams unprepared to me. They should know who's on it, and that's that.

All friends now, mind.
Puts unnecessary pressure on the taker, but I want them all hungry for goals. I'm sure Evatt will have a quiet word.
He already has.

That's another goal scored late which keeps us top of that chart :D

Life has got in the way today so I'm not watching the match. How have we lined up? Who is doing well/badly?
Back four, I’d say. Sadlier off the right, Dapo left, Bod hovering behind/around Charles.

Bod the best of our players IMO but it’s a sleepy game.
Looks more to me like the wonky 3-5-2. Sadlier RWB but high. Dapo defo isn't off the left, wandering all over. And Dadi and Dion both running in behind.
At every restart we had four across the back. That’s very wonky :D
:D aye, but it is very wonky. Johnstone been on the overlap far too much to be a centre back in a 4. And since we went to the back three we've had centre backs taking throw ins in our first two thirds, and the wing backs on the final third. That's how Sadlier/Jones and Johnstone/John have been dividing them.

And Dapo was barely back in our defensive third first half, but Sads was (and Dapo has several times since we went to cover Sads)

But it's not a normal 352 either.

It's somewhere between. A 4231 with Jones narrow, Sads deep and Dapo narrow. And/or a 352, with Sads high, and Jones a bit wide.

I think Trafford is bored. I like him, but he's got lots he could improve!

As every, how you'd write it down doesn't really matter when the approach is as fluid as ours.

As one wag on here said, "Wonky, wonky, wonky, wonky Wanderers!"

Definitely. But he’s 19. And for an outfield equivalent that’s about 16. He’s got a good 5 or 6 years of development as a keeper yet and keepers peak late twenties.

Hunters ended up being hunted, and not for the first time. Ramsey apparently had an unchallenged run through and score? Is that right..Well happy with the result, but we do dice with it at times...

Sort of a poor clearance from Trafford gave away possession and Ramsay went through and took it well. Traff should have blasted clear really instead of trying to play a pass out.but I forgive him

Oh. Seems we can get results without Big Ric and Flossey...not meant as a sneer. But rather as an observation that the squad ain't in bad shape, since Jan. I'm quite upbeat about next season whatever happens with transfers.

Thanks to Evatt for changing it at half time bringing in Dempsey for MJ. Made a huge difference as Morley was on his own in the first half. The change allowed us to press higher up the pitch with a more mobile midfield. Paid dividends as we completely took over the game and should have kept a clean sheet with Trafford and Johnston shinning in defense. Trafford spoiled his game a little with another bad pass down the middle of the pitch. Has to learn to pass to the wings as losing the ball in the middle of the pitch usually results in big trouble.

Another good performance by Dapo. We will certainly miss the creativity he alone brings to the side if and when he leaves. The commentator made more of a nothing situation between Baka and himself re the penalty. Both players wanted to take it. Who can blame them. Another goal for Baka, another assist by Dapo being fouled for the penalty. Happy weekend.

A great 2nd half performance that. Some quality play and they all put a real shift in, particularly my MoTM, Dad-Bod.

All bodes well for next season but whatever it's just great to be enjoying the footy again

If you want your essential match atmosphere a la Wanderers, here's an "enthusiastic" if somewhat biased visit.

I haven't checked it yet but apparently we've earned 44 points from our last 21 matches.

That's some going if true.

Tis true, was calculating it earlier as I was going to compare to the run last season.

The final 22 games of last season we picked up 51 points (2.2ppg) - 16 wins, 3 draws, 3 losses.

The final 22 games of this season, with a game still to play, we’ve picked up 44 points so far (2.1ppg) 13 wins, 5 draws, 3 losses.

Here’s another stat Flanners noticed on the way home. We went up automatically last season with 79 points. Sheffield Wednesday have 79 points already. They’re seventh. With two games to play.

At least three teams are staying down with 80+ points. Tough gig.
