Be interesting to see if the likes of Fossey go to Portugal or no? That might tell a tale.

If he’s not signed before then he won’t be going.

Interesting to have it behind closed doors. I suspect both squads will be bang up for it so as a warm-up game goes it's... interesting. A challenge, yes; but not all pre-season challenges are well-judged, as Chungy would testify.

Do we actually know he'd travel, even if he was signing? Where is he on his re-hab?

Judging by the almost daily workouts he posts on his Instagram, he seems to be back to 100% fitness. No problems with the knee whatsoever.

New rules re: subs and kits for next season...

Teams can use five subs in each game, but can only makes substitutions in four periods each game, one of which is half time. So you can't see teams doing five individuals subs in stoppage time when 1-0 up.

Home teams can wear away or third colours if their home kit would cause a visual issue in those with, for ezample, colour-blindness (though I don't understand why they just wouldn't ask the away team to change in that instance). Likewise, rules on kit elements have been relaxed to allow different shirt-shorts-socks combinations when required.

I'm sure the subs thing will leave a few of us guessing as to how many sub opportunities have been utilized. No matter. Five subs seems like a good idea, as does including the HT as an extra sub opportunity.

As for the home team using away colours. I suspect this is the case as its far easier for the home team to change kit than it is for the away team to bring spares on the off chance there is a clash.

You'd like to think in this day and age it wouldn't be difficult to know what your opponents home kit is.
Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!

And the key to a result is a good :kettle:

Five subs is bullshit.

Yep. Giving the richest clubs in any particular league an advantage over everyone else.

Youthful Max Conway, Adam Senior and Ellis Litherland are in Portugal - the latter being a keeper, with Trafford on late summer hols after England U21 duty.

Sheehan and Isgrove are there, but Sexy Kieran's stayed home because Lucky Lady SexyKieran'sWife is about to give birth to MiniKieran No.3.
