Not like Kachnuga. But he has already scored in the Papa Johns...this season...He's the reason we're in the semi... :-)
Meh. Insane specifically said goals don't win games, they're won by pressing and passing. I believe him.
I'm just wrestling with the enormity of this. I think it might be approaching a 00000XF97 Buffer Overflow state....

Goal and an assist for Carty against Rochdale reserves on Tuesday. Might be seeing him on the bench on Saturday if we don’t sign a forward in the next 36 hours or so.

Nice write up for Conor Carty in the BN today. He's unlikely to get many first team opportunities for the rest of the season, but hopefully he's one we can bring through in the longer term.

We're very close to not being able to put a full bench out, depending on where MJ and others are. He may get a go.

Think it's more likely, we'll see a midfielder enter the 1st team bench from the B team

No idea. It depends who is and isn't fit. I make it 17 players (including keepers) who are definitely fit and available as things stand - could be 19 if MJ and Izzy are 100% (MJ missed the last game and Izzy apparently needed an assessment this week despite being on the bench last time).

Could potentially need a couple of B teamers if anything else crops up, but hopefully we are fine.

Yep, so it's midfield where we could be light. Could have 3.5 strikers in the matchday squad on Saturday

The .5 being Shoretire

We like to change both strikers and Shoretire is here as a midfielder. So if we have 3 strikers, though Shola could do a job there, Evatt's usual bench would be a striker short.

Midfielders on the bench could be Lee and Sheehan, or Sheehan and Shoretire...so we're not short there.

Fair point, but I think Evatt has stumbled on a nice formula with Shoretire just behind Charles - The team looked really nicely balanced on Saturday

Isn't it more likely that Shoretire plays behind both Charles and Victor (or CJ/Dan)?

Max Conway has extended his loan at Buxton. Apparently he played on TV in the FA Cup. I may have to find a replay.

Didn't realise Carty had joined St Pat's on loan. Wonder if he's contracted with us beyond the summer?

That's one less option for the bench in the pizza trophy then. We better hope that neither Charles nor Jerome goes down with an injury before then...

I did forget this would be the case when I saw he'd gone out on loan. I'm sure if it came down to it we could recall although I suspect we'd probably end up playing a formation that had no strikers just width and people coming onto the attack from out wide.

Either way it wouldn't be ideal. I suspect Jerome would be the go to guy for the semi. Think that will cost us if I'm not seeing improvement pace wise from the guy. I think majority of matches he'll be decent but in a match like that with Wembley beckoning I suspect he'll have much faster people bearing down on him more frequently than he'd be happy with. Most games the opposition could take a breather and give him something for his experience to exploit.

Not trying to be too critical of him but the elder statesmen types are missing something. Look at Ronaldos output. Once the legs start to go its a big issue. Same with Owen and Rooney. Significant drop offs.

I've not seen enough to make my own mind up, but Luton fans were disappointed to see him go and many remarked that he's still quick and powerful - He's also got experience of playoffs, cup semi's and finals - I do hope and believe that we can rely on him

Some newer names on here, what with several lads on loan. 1-0 down already

Preston have drawn every Central League game so far, if the online table is accurate - so presumably they will want to gift us a goal and preserve their 100% record.

Notice Khumbeni captaining the side. He's been on the bench the last couple of games - I assume he won't be tonight then. Kachunga likely straight back and onto the bench - unless it's a surprise return for Thomason...
