^ some shocking defending on a couple of those! For an awful moment I thought we'd resigned Liam Trotter before realising it was a scaffolding pole on the camera gantry.

Did you work it out, because the scaffolding pole moved quicker and had a better shimmy?Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Mon Jul 24, 2023 2:19 pm^ some shocking defending on a couple of those! Re: B Team Thread 22/23 Season
Good to see. This season’s group certainly seems to be a bit higher quality than last season’s based on their results over the past few weeks. Will be interesting to see if any of them get a chance in the cup games coming up.

Re: B Team Thread 22/23 Season
Goalie Luke Hutchinson lent to seventh-tier Hyde for a month.
Details on t'site
It's his fourth loan to the NPL. Given he's 21 next week, perhaps he's not progressing at quite the speed we might hope. But let's see.
Earlier in the week, we signed a 17-year-old keeper formerly of Crewe - apparently, expressly for the B team rather than the kids. See here.

Was hurtchinson the one in the nets for Coventry?
Re: B Team Thread 22/23 Season
That was a lad we subsequently released - think he’s called Matty Alexander.

I'll put this here for future reference: nice interview with Luke Matheson. Seems grateful and quietly determined. Good luck to the fella.

Re: B Team Thread 22/23 Season
Seems like he's got his head screwed on which is no given after such a meteroic rise. I do worry about his physicality, especially given injuries, but there's clearly talent + opportunity over the next few months.
And tough to find fault with a single word of this:

Matheson said to Iles who when wrote: But if playing against United at Old Trafford is the peak of my career then something has gone wrong.

That it's going to lose its mind

Re: B Team Thread 22/23 Season
Reads really well - there’s some audio I think from last night as well.
Positives - was quick, looked like a right winger who can play full back, and played a couple of really nice passes to start attacks, looked to go forward when he had the ball.
Negatives - very slight, not one you want defending balls into the box particularly at the end of right games which may limit his game time. Needs to go on the Thomason diet.

The biggest positive for me was he looked like he’s dead keen to prove a point. I liked that.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Wed Sep 06, 2023 1:12 pmReads really well - there’s some audio I think from last night as well.

Height might be an issue but neither of our wing backs are that big. For me the question is whether he can perform the full up and down role and cover the right side…it’s physically demanding and I don’t know enough about him to know that yet.

Genuine question. Sithole is (if google is correct) 20. He's played 16 games in league one for Gillingham.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Thu Sep 21, 2023 12:05 pmStriker Gez Sithole joins fifth-tier Alty on loan, for an initial month.

He's been at Bolton now for 15 months presumably learning our ways.
He's now on loan for a month to a non league side.....
At what point do we consider a 20 year old with league experience ready for a chance here? And if at this point he isn't ready and is moving down the leagues - what likely end point is there?
