I see that their dirty rascals have registered seven fouls to our none

Pretty laboured for a lot of that, whilst Traf down the other end reading a book. Couple of 'em a little short of control, notably Bod. Could do with a bit more tempo...but 1-0 HT, not too disappointed..oh after the heatwave, forgot our icebox was 20 degrees colder than anywhere else...shoulda bought a jacket, methinks.

Much more interesting prospect us being a goal ahead. Means Morecambe have to come at us now. Should be easier to get at them on the break.
Small sample but they did seem to immediately be a yard or two quicker to close us down - less reactive, more proactive. Keep the passing sharp, knock it round them. We don't have to try to probe as much now and they have to come at us – so we can move them round and tire them out.

I now can't get the old tune What a Friend We Have in Jesus - as nicked by Billy Connolly for Jesus Christ I'm Nearly 40 and that iconic 80s Volkswagen ad with the woman leaving her rich husband and chucking his gifts but keeping the car keys - out of my head, except with the words "What a find we have in Bradley"...

I wouldn’t say I’m entirely satisfied or dissatisfied with that half. We scored a good goal by moving the ball quickly. And we’ve dominated the ball as you’d expect.

We’ve also spent far too much time doing absolutely nothing and moving the ball slowly and not working openings for a cross.

Declan John I’ve no idea what he’s doing but he needs to really start making those forward penetrative runs again. Far too still.

Bradley and Morley and Dempsey are absolutely glorious though.

Kachunga playing well.

Bodvarrson having a surprisingly poor game.

Yes they will have to come at us but I have a funny feeling this one is far from dead. Cool heads needed second half and some more incisive play in their final third please. And try and quicken it up a bit.

We're up to second place as it is, another goal and we go top :)

They have executed their game plan well…we finally capitalised on the opportunity to break quickly and scored. Assuming they will at least try to score there will be more opportunities to do that, if we can get a second I’ll be happy! Do wonder if having MJ in the side makes it easier for Jones and Johnston to push on. Dec John and Bodvarson look a little off the pace for me.

Agreed with all this. Still not convinced we haven't got a dodgily conceded goal in us – those ghosts will take some exorcising - and that lot will come out with some buggardly plan, maybe hypnotising the ref or starting a wildfire or something.

1-0's better than 0-0, but I won't relax before 2-0. Then we should think of subs and Sheffield Wednesday. Clearly Morley and Dempsey are key to us now and might need a breather, but are MJ and Khumbeni what we need? Can Lee last 90? The danger is ending up with a somewhat makeshift or under-prepared midfield (say, MJ-Khumbeni with Sads at 10) and losing control.

But there I go again, catastrophising. Worth remembering we went behind to these home and away last season and only avoided defeat through added-time equalisers, so it's very welcome progress.

Conor Bradley is already amongst the best players in the division, I reckon. I’d quite like to score another fairly quickly and bring him off for Sadlier.

I had my doubts but hats off to Evatt and Markham for bringing him in. Liverpool must be absolutely delighted with how he’s doing. Coupled with Traff’s development, we suddenly look like *the* team for Prem teams to send their youngsters.

Indeed. Or at least the team for this division and that age. Next up: the team for the Champo and 21-year-olds…?

17k is particularly impressive against these lot. Belief is returning.

Free header from a set piece. That’s why 1-0 isn’t relaxing.

Bradley burned that lad off so badly he’s injured him.

Ha, was going to say the same - “has he… killed him?”

Looks like the lad’s seriously injured - all the best to him, even if one’s first reaction to a Morecambe lad going down is “oh FFS”

Time for Dapo and a second goal. If Bodvarson s having a night off, take him off. We need him at weekend.

Morecambe leaving huge gaps in our No10 slot - Dapo or Sads could fill their boots there.

Kachunga having a bit of a Kachunga evening - tidy enough, but not particularly posing a threat to the opposition.
