As with most people I still think of the place as the Reebok. That name will never be bettered in my humble opinion.
Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!

And the key to a result is a good :kettle:

Dream scenario is to get Reebok back, right? I wonder if we'd go back to them and see if they're interested.

I trust Sharon et al to come up with the deal that makes the most financial sense. It's cold, but that's the way the world works. I doubt Reebok would be interested, and even if they were, I very much doubt they'd be he highest bidders.

That being said, I'd love to see the stadium given a proper name, in a "Stadium Name sponsored by Company A" fashion...

I doubt they'll get in on the stadium but they are back in football now, so fingers crossed for the kit!

We've got Macron until 2024, but who knows after that!

Going back to their home in support of an upwardly mobile club is a nice story, so you never know. Unlikely though, yes.

It’s probably too old to give it a “sponsor at stadium name”. Sunderland went the opposite way at a similar time - remember mocking them for pinching benficas name but it’s part of the Sunderland ‘brand’ now and hasn’t changed. How we all thought Reebok was synonymous with Bolton and that would never change…

It is what it is - we need to make as much money as we can outside of football and selling the naming rights is one of our ways of doing that. Majority if not all newer stadiums have gone that way, it’s the way of the world.

I'm sure I read that they had set up a major sponsor for next season and the Stadium name change would come from that?

I absolutely refuse to support a team with a home venue named " The Pink Pancake Stadium

Edited and apology because I didn't know there was an actual business named Tata.

I wonder if the many people (me included) who are adamant that it will always be "The Reebok" would change their mind if we did give it a proper name.

Would it still be "The Reebok" if we did change the name to "The Lofthouse Memorial Stadium" or "The 1877 Arena" or something?

They were looking for an tandem deal, but Service My Car only wanted the shirt deal and it was apparently too good to refuse

They've hired a PR / Marketing company to find a new stadium sponsor

There was a piece on The Athletic earlier this year which mentioned that actually stadium naming deals don't tend to be very lucrative, and are typically dwarfed by shirt sponsorship figures. In that context, whilst any new revenue is welcome, I hope we don't go for something daft.

Perhaps its worth us asking Reebok if we can call it the Reebok Stadium. Might open the door for reigniting the relationship and likely to be a little embarrassing if they don't and take us up on the offer but not contribute financially.

Either way the prospect of Reebok kits and Reebok stadium is desirable. (Macron have been good though)

Aside from the stadium being named something not too terrible, my hope is that we can settle on a name and stick with it. It's the changing it every few years that I don't like.

If the sponsorship was only a couple of grand a year I'd happily do it to have a good name and they'd only have to advertise my supermarket on a couple of hoardings or summat :D

As I recall, the whole 'Reebok' thing ended when the company was acquired by Adidas.

The Reebok brand is now owned by the Massachusetts based Authentic Brands Group.

I'd be amazed, albeit pleasantly, if they have even the remotest interest in creating brand association with a level three English football club.
