Or stupid.
I'm sure he's probably seeing Sadlier as the defensive option as well as having 5 players in the back line to switch to a 4, so even if we lose one we've got cover.

Looking at the squad though, i'm seeing the likes of Sadlier to cover the wing back slots, likewise for Jones but for the defensive slots i'm at a loss to see what the cover would be (Iredale at CB?, Thomason?).

Either way it doesn't look good for the likes of John, Aimson, Toal, Beck or Toure. Maybe the last two are a way away.

I suspect we may have a significant change for Tuesdays game with those missing today getting in the squad.

Dixon,
Isgrove, Aimson, Toal, Toure, John
Sheehan, Morley, Khumbeni, Beck
Carty

Perhaps just a day off today and the rest fighting for contention for Tuesdays match.

Yeah, that feels pretty dumb. Even if we come through unscathed.

Same applies for the lack of a goalkeeper, especially when we've got 7 subs on the bench. Although, given the amount of changes we're allowed to make it seems a bit daft.

All part of a masterplan i'm sure but i'm at a loss to think why we can't have defenders being trained to cover midfield positions and not just the other way round. (Joey O'Brien style)

Glad to see Dapo getting a run out. On form he's arguably our best player so hopefully it'll be game time to help get him flying again.

Yes mate. Same thing applies to GK.

Santos and Charles looking at a bit shot shy in what seemed to be our best move of the game. Pull the trigger!

Was that another example of Gethin being five yards further back than both the other CBs, waving pointlessly as he plays folk onside?

“Don’t go horizontal if you can go lateral”?

I don’t know if Harlan’s worse when he’s spouting platitudes or trying to sound wiser than he is…

Can't fault the man for trying at least.

Better than repeating the 'patient build up' moniker that we've been too accustomed to lately.

Time for a break in play and we're pleased to say that we're now sponsored by Bedding, clean sheets for both teams!

I can fault the man for failing. A co-commentator is supposed to enlighten. I can’t recall the last thing he said that was of insight or interest.

No defenders or keeper on the bench. Brave.
Even Coyle put a keeper and defender on the bench!

Hardly surprising when that keeper was Jaaskelainen, i'd've quite happily had Jussi in net and Bogdan nowhere near that bench.
Even the defender that was benched on occasion was Alonso in favour of a back 4 of Ream, Ricketts, Boyata and Wheater.

Even NGog was chosen over Klasnic. Madness.

I'm guessing, looking at 45 mins of comments, all of a sudden, nothing happened...

Reasonable half. We’ve had the better but not exactly battering on the door. Needs a higher tempo.

Cheltenham losing at home 4-0 to Bristol Rovers, who presumably don’t mind the tight pitch. Ipswich losing at home to Lincoln.

As the live table stands, we are 7pts above third-bottom and 8pts behind third-top.

Best chance we've had is the Dapo free kick. Aside from that we've been shot shy and unable to get in behind. The fact we're not playing quick enough is killing our tempo.

The approach play is good. The final third is league two stuff.

Their keeper bar the opening minute has had nothing to do. We’ve had all the play but look as threatening as a wet paper bag.

We lack penetration out wide. Iredale can deliver the ball well but doesn’t get outside enough. Bradley troubles in behind but his final ball is disastrously poor at times and it ruins the good work.

Dapo doing ok but his best work is too deep for me.

Bod not having a good game. At all.

Charles works hard but offers so so little threat so far.

That’s 5 halves of football we’ve not really looked like scoring in despite dominating possession. It’s a problem. And Evatt desperately needs to come up with some answers during this half time break.

Dion shot early on was decent.
