Was that another example of Gethin being five yards further back than both the other CBs, waving pointlessly as he plays folk onside?
Please don't.
Genuinely dunno if it was hi, but it was someone in the RCB zone

When things go wrong, fine - when they keep going wrong, you worry it's systemic

That said, and touching all the wood I can, we still have a good defensive record so summat's going right

Need more the other way though

Barnsley HT sub is Nicky Cadden, the ex-FGR LW/LWB whom the sadly missed Ghostofthebok wanted us to sign this summer

Maybe its time to drop Thomason / MJ. As good as they're both being defensively, neither are really offering a decent penetrative ball as it stands. Even the big diagonal passes wide that GT was accustomed to are no longer being played.

Crying out for a bit of finesse at the minute. Lee, Morley or Sheehan would be my thought.

Wholeheartedly agree. Thomo booked so let’s hook him.

No creativity through midfield - it’s all wide or over the top.

Another example there - MJ back to Johnston, big diagonal, too big, out.

Feels like we need to get Thomason or MJ to be more creative or for Morley and Sheehan to step up their defensive duties. I suspect Sheehan and Morley will be easier to train to up their defensive duties than it would be for Thomason and MJ to suddenly become Pirlo esque.

Ha, I say that and suddenly Bolton's best move comes from a big diagonal pass from MJ. Beautiful ball.

Horses for courses. Depends on the game. GT has been working hard but Morley should be able to do both for 30 minutes.

MJ has been tactically excellent today, filling in everywhere.

Agreed, not being critical of the two, just feels like we're not setup for penetration. Seems like we're setup to defend and grind out clean sheets.

Has JDB had a touch of the ball yet? Seems like this game has completely passed him by.

69th minute for first sub. And some say Evatt’s a gambler.

Oh sure, I wasn’t saying it to disagree with you that the MJ-Tomo axis needed changing. MJ is so key to us. Tomo has done well but we have a squad to use.

Problem with this starting front three is that neither Kacha nor Baka (this season) feels like a game-changer.

I’d consider Sads for Iredale, who hasn’t penetrated at all.

Bod trying to pass to Dapo who’s a mile offside.

Interesting subs (Sads and Baka for Bod-Dion) - option to play Dapo and Sads either side of Baka in more of a 3-4-3 than a 3-4-1-2.

Or he could just push Dapo up top, which wouldn’t change much

Guessing there's a double change of the front two. Not like that'll help. Don't think thats the problem here. JDB hasn't had the ball enough and what he has had he's not been effective with it. Charles has had the ball enough but has been poor.

Been happy with Dapo's effectiveness early on but that looks like it's been waning. All in all it looks like the same frustration from previous weeks coming out.

I don't think Barnsley have really setup to park the bus either, or even that we're on a small pitch. Just looks like we're shot shy and lacking any meaningful passes from midfield or wide.

MJ Williams stepping his game up this second half. MOTM so far.

I'm happy with the defensive solidity (if I'm not mistaken only Leyton Orient have conceded less in the entire EFL), but it looks like it'll be no goals scored in 3 games.

Morley on for MJ; Kacha for Iredale (Sads LWB)

Never a free kick from Dempsey. Easily got the ball.
