I might be wrong in this, but it wasn't so marked as a difference before Sam Allardyce. We sacrificed a chance of real Glory because he wanted to be head hunting as a league manager by the top boys. He was a top manager for us, but there's a lot that we need to remember about what went on behind the scenes. Bolton were a great cup side once.

I don’t think it has anything to do with Sam Allardyce. Who let’s not forget took us to an FA Cup semi final at wembley. And a league cup final too.

It’s just the way the game is structured. Promotion to the championship is more lucrative than an FA Cup trophy win. It’s also in terms of most fans views more important.

Football has changed - probably for the worse but it’s the same for every club. FA Cup just doesn’t have the magic it once did. Sad but the genie isn’t going back in the bottle.

And we've also been to the semis post Allardyce.

Used to be an old Bolton Cup song in the fifties about Stan Hanson and Lofty. . A modern version would be:

We've go the hands of Jamie Trafford
We've got Ricardo's head
We've got the magic feet of Dapo ........
And he'll leave you for dead..

We've Jon Bod and Kachunga
And Bradley and Dion too
So on your bikes you Barnsley Tykes
As we wave good bye to you......

Brave words, but you have to believe...

COME ON YOU WHITES.... :oyea: :oyea:

I think we'd have problems with our Stanley - I think he's currently playing for Bamber Bridge! :-)

Put simply; we lost. Rule number one in football, score more goals than your opponents; we didn't. The rest is simply hot air.
