The Grecians don their long johns, gloves, snoods and scarves and sally forth from Doone country to try the mettle of the Super Whites on our frosty hill of Winter. A long journey from another mid-table opponent with still too few points separating us. This could be a significant win (or loss) to the Unibol warriors before the season of Goodwill arrives. All providing Jack Frost can be contained for all and we don't have to settle for a snowball fight. Get at it then..... :D

Exeter aren't goal shy, but their defence can be iffy. Feels like we'll need a couple of goals..

Jonathan Grounds, eh? Thought he did OK for us in his dozen or so games. 2018-19 though; what a dreadful season.

I thought from a bad bunch he was arguably one of the worst. Dreaded seeing his name on the teamsheet.

I'd happily take a set of rose tinted glasses if a pair are going free. Would love to remember that period fondly but it just isnt happening any time soon

An awful long jag in the words of one of one of my favourite Christmas carol lines : "Through the rude wind's wild lament, and the bitter weather." I saw quite a few white games at Burnden, but that was a thing of the past with the under-soil heating pf today. I'll still be Damart underpants weather and whilst three points will warm the cockles, one will be better than nil. Have to keep the faith though, so "COME ON YOU WHITES" :oyea: :oyea:

Jones out, Santos out. Back three surely has to be Johnston-Aimson-Toal. Unless Aimson is still only partially fit, in which case it could be Iredale-Johnston-Toal.

Or it could be a continuation of the very lopsided back four with which we finished Tuesday's game - Iredale-Johnston-Toal-Bradley...

I won't lie, a back three of Johnston, Aimson and Toal doesn't fill me with joy against a quick and tricky Exeter attack.

Iredale/ Johnston / Aimson / Bradley as a back four makes most sense to me.

I had no recollection of the name, so googled him. Still none the wiser!!

I have him in my head as making some absolute howlers when he first came, not sure how it ended, or if I even remember the right player!

Grounds was a shocker. Worse than Moxey, another duffer who played for both sides.

Unsure about today. I clearly watched a different game than Evatt last Saturday if he thinks we controlled 75% of the game. We didn't. We had a bright 15 minute spell in the middle of the 2nd half. That was it.

However, no small pitch, no big away following to disappoint and no overly physical opponents so we've no excuses.

It's going to be close

Have we over exerted ourselves in the cup game? Or should the cup game be the new standard of how we attack.

Clearly a desire to get through to the quarter finals upped our levels. We need the same thing in our matches in the league.

Now obviously Exeter is a tougher proposition but we should be looking to beat these if we're looking to do something substantial this year

If we've over exerted ourselves against Rags u21's someone needs shooting. I'm not reading too much around attacking prowess from that match.

That was more constant wave after wave of attacking as opposed to attacking prowess

Whatever badge we give it...waves, prowess...I'm not reading too much into it, until we see it vs grown-ups.
