Derby have spotted Aimson can't play football and are trying to force the ball onto him to press.

Will be interesting to see how Morley copes with that. Needs to realise what's happening and avoid passing it to Will in dodgy areas.

Quite smart from Derby so far, but they're open for us to grab a couple if we pick it up.
Getting warne in is probably signing of the season for this division. I’d back Evatt against most at this level but I think Warne is better.

Really struggling with runners from midfield. Back three often with no-one to mark with McGoldrick dropping deep. And then runners flying in at a static back three.

Their midfield not interested in having the ball so we've nothing to press.

Sounds like an intriguing tactical puzzle to be solved, perhaps at half-time.

Derby are looking good, understandably.

The Aimson press seems to be causing a few issues but I don't think theres been that much in the game so far. Being one nil down is about right so far. We've had half chances from the looks of it.

On the plus side, N'lundulu is looking good out there. Dribbling wise at least. Suspect it might impact our tempo somewhat.

Aimson isn't enjoying this game at all.

Interesting. Might be worth bringing Santos on, always worth a goal at set pieces as well 😂

Hoping this is going to be a game of 2 halves as that was poor. 1 shot in total.

Nothing happening through midfield. Plenty of stuff going long, which is not what we are.

Derby have gone from looking a league above to beatable in the last ten minutes, maybe they've ran themselves out or maybe just taking it easy.

Aimson for Santos would be the correct tactical switch, but no good for the player. Unless he has a knock he will stay on, but we need to offer him out-balls to break that trap.

I'd argue Santos coming on would probably be a good shout due to Santos' dribbling ability coming out the back, letting us mix it up a bit in terms of how we break against this bunch. I don't think Aimson is that keen on heading out from the back.

That being said, i'd still have Aimson on first choice for next match given how well they've been performing lately.

Yep this is where we get into man-management. It's fine being horses for courses, but the players have to understand the tactics behind it.

I am/was half-expecting Santos to play midweek v FGR - at home in a game where we'll dominate possession. I also agree with Ghost that it would be the right tactical switch to bring him on now – they have found a weakness; plug it - but coupled with the above, it might seem like Aimson is getting somehow blamed. That he is not would need to be made clear to players and fans. This is what managers have to do.

I'm not watching but I'm hearing Williams has really struggled.

Is that a fair assessment?

Williams has just tried running the length of pitch and got caught by a lad who gave him a good 15 yard start. That said he was up top on his own. Might be an issue if we're trying to counter
