Evatt ‘you don’t make statement wins in February’. Really like that.

15 cup finals left he says. And a semi final.

So hopefully 16 cup finals. But yeah he’s spot on. Today is a massive result if we beat MK Dons Tuesday and so on….
He has to keep feet on the ground after that. Every manager in the division will have been looking at Posh and saying "Okay, they are back in this now" and the lads have smashed them. You risk taking your eye off the ball and you're right he's said the right things there.

That is massive result regardless of MK Dons etc, though. If you could win one of those two games it's the one today, because of the "6 pointer" aspect.

We do need to keep winning, as DSB says. 16 cup finals or any other cliche we fancy, but we've given ourselves a huge boost in the play-offs hunt today.
He’s said in the club interview the same thing that todays result only is massive if we go and beat MK Dons or words to that effect.

He’s right. Look at the table. It’s tight. Win the majority of our home games and it’s hard to catch us but not impossible. But have to make results like todays count by avoiding upsets.

Oh, I wasn't disagreeing with you and I know you were referring to Evatt's comments. The fact remains that, managerial cliches aside, putting 12 points between us and a chaser is a big deal regardless.

We will lose games. Hopefully not Tuesday, but we will lose them.

I fancied us to win today, but thought it'd be much tougher. I fancied us to batter MK Dons on Tuesday - so we'll probably now get done 0-1.

Not sure why we'd try and play down how impressive that result is, to be honest.
confused.com.

We've played an average mid table team, who leak a goal a game and have lost nearly 50% of their league matches, but had a bit if a new manager bounce recently...

That'd be playing it down! :-)
People forgetting they had more shots too. Could easily have gone the other way. We can file today as a lucky one and hope performances improve as they need to.

Two pens as gimmes as well.

Before the season I reckoned 7th. We can and should do better than that now. I'm sure we'll manage to talk ourselves down, each match...

Nice bonuses today too;

Mbete starts and does well.
Shola gets another game under his belt.
Super Gethin Jones shows he can still play wing back.
New strikers get more minutes.
Izzy and Randall do too on their way back from injury.

A great day.

I'll be in Waterloo soon. I'll trundle off and find an espresso somewhere.
Don't panic, my coffee machine is going ten to the dozen here. I'm making everyone drink coffee and I'm buzzing
You Sir deserve a mention in dispatches. Your coffee machine has been a magnificent replacement :D
Aye it's not bad is it :D I better rest it next time out or my staff will be bouncing off the walls with the amount of caffeine consumed

Seriously tho - that's a lovely pic to see. Loanees and new lads bang in the middle of it all. Club feels good right now.
