Another fine mess Stanley...Away at Accrington in the Cup. Wed 22-Feb. 8-O'clock.

And that’s not a dig at anybody…

It’s just a fact. Plymouth (like Preston in 2002) will have a lot of people from the area who wouldn’t normally class themselves as supporters go and cheer them on, because it’s their local team and they identify with them.

We just don’t have that around Bolton. Never have. Preston sold almost 10,000 more tickets than us at Cardiff

Stoke, a similar sized club historically with similar supporter base outsold us by about 10,000

We were miles short of selling out for both those games and they’re bigger games than this.

I’ll be there with bells on, as I’m sure many others will be, I just don’t expect there’ll be that much demand

How many did we take the last time we played at Wembley (don’t mention the game)?
Think it was about 27k which was about 4k more than our average attendance around that time

Which is an entirely valid concern and something we've spoken about on here in terms of the club failing to engage various communities.

Comparing this season with last or previous is hardly relevant. Cost of living rocketing, empty shelves, sky high energy bills and council tax etc rises. Add Covid, unemployment and firms closing down everywhere. Doesn't take three wise men to see where finance problems arise. I'm a lifetime Bolton fan, but wife, family, kids, grandkids etc, etc, always take priority.

Selling 25,000 for this will be an achievement IMO, I'll be very surprised if we sell more than 25k. If the club limit it to 1 per ST it will be a big mistake, it should be a min of 2 per ST holder, possibly even 4 per ST holder if we want to get to 25k.

Plymouth are allowing ST holders 6 tickets each which will help them sell plenty.

Yeah they should think carefully on the policy. One per ST holder will be a mistake. ST holders get first dibs on area but they want to take non ST holders or sit together with kids etc.

Can’t do 6 per ST holder but definitely 2 I think.

Has to be.

We are getting 38k tickets and ST holders can buy two each - which would still leave 10k for general sake if everyone maxes their allocation. Seems sensible.

Full details tomorrow.

Hadn't really considered it in these terms but I'm w. Ghost on this one - we need to show up, for all the reasons stated. Equally, for all the valid concerns mentioned that's also understood. But it's not the time for 'meh', imo.

I'm fairly confident we'll shift 30,000 this time, which would out perform every recent Wembley visit bar Liverpool in the CC.

There's a whole new generation of fans and interested locals that haven't been before. Look at todays crowd - if you'd told me at the time of any of our previous visits that we'd get 20,000 for a division 3 game v Port Vale in February, I'd have had you sectioned!

Argyle allowing 6 tickets per season ticket. Excessive for us, but we’d be inclined to sell more if people knew they could sit with mates

I think we’ve got it right tbh. One per ST would be too restrictive. Two per ST seems fine given it leaves a minimum of 10K for open sale.

If they’d gone more then it restricts not ST holders on where they sit significantly.

Yes we won’t sell out but you have to balance it a bit.

If you have three CRNs you can get a group of 6. That to me is reasonable. It’s 9 tickets per transaction anyway so in reality unless you are a sole season ticket holder it’s not making a huge difference either way.

I think it’s right…most STs in groups will be able to get the plus ones for mates/wags…and if not you can hold off pretty safe in the knowledge you will get what you need in open sale.
