There have been some surprisingly high attendances.truewhite15 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 12:27 pmPlymouth are apparently on 32k. Gonna be one of the highest attended trophy finals in the competition's history. Which is nice.
Last year though - 30,688
So I suggest we'll sell more tickets than the total attendance last year ourselves.

There have. Only eight times previously has the total attendance exceeded 60k, though. Should be a hell of an atmosphere!BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 12:29 pmThere have been some surprisingly high attendances.truewhite15 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 16, 2023 12:27 pmPlymouth are apparently on 32k. Re: Wembley Details
I've got it down as 64k+ at the minute. 30k from ourselves and 34k from Plymouth. So you'd suspect it'd be more than that, as those were figures from earlier today but it's looking good nonetheless.
What did surprise me after some googling, was that its a shorter distance from Bolton to Wembley than it is from Plymouth to Wembley:
Bolton -> Wembley (3hr 10 min -> 4hr 10 min, 206 miles)
Plyouth -> Wembley (4hr 10 min, 214 miles)
Time estimations based upon getting to Wembley for 2pm on Sun 2nd April.

Re: Wembley Details
There’ll be 7-8000 community tickets too, for sponsors friends and families, local charities and sports organisations in North London etc.
Wembley hold 89997 (I think) so giving 76000 to supporters leaves a lot of freebies they’ll shift to make up the numbers

Looking at past finals you add on about 5-6K on top of the tickets clubs shift. This ain’t no FA Cup.boltonboris wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 6:37 amThere’ll be 7-8000 community tickets too, for sponsors friends and families, local charities and sports organisations in North London etc.

Re: Wembley Details
Plymouth’s a day by phone from anywhere. I mean, last time I went it took me 18 hours and four tow-trucks to get back…

At least you had the weather, though.

A Sheffield fan on Youtube called our Wembley game a Mickey Mouse cup final. Is that because the Owls did a Donald Duck? The Lord loves an honest loser...

Re: Wembley Details
Given we’ve got two weeks without a lot of football action how about we do some ‘Wembley memories’?
I think I’ve been to see Bolton play at Wembley (old and new) 7 times and have to this point only seen 1 win. Reading. What a win it was of course. But still. Bristol City, Tranmere, Liverpool, Watford, Villa and of course Stoke were all long days ending in varying degrees of disappointment.
I sadly missed Torquay and I’m racking my brain to remember why but think it might be to my shame that I was on holiday at the time.
I’ve only ever seen one England game in Wembley but feel relatively lucky it was the England Scotland Euro 96 game. If you are picking one then that. I guess.

Seen England win at Wembley 3-0 against Georgia (Shearer, indirect freekick into the roof of the net) in the late 90’s. My dad won tickets and we bunked off school for a couple of days.
I’ve been to Wembley watching Bolton on 5 occasions and haven’t yet seen us win.
Tranmere, Liverpool, Villa, Watford, Stoke.
I apologise in advance.

Watford & Villa. Also, Boro at Cardiff. Needless to say I have now banned myself from all semi-finals and finals

Curious as to why Boris went to the Liverpool final but not Reading.

Re: Wembley Details
If we show up in the first half it'll make a nice change compared to previous big days out. My wife and I are taking a week off and showing the kids the South (Stonehenge, Cornwall, the Cotswolds etc) so it'll either be a victory tour or a way to cheer me up.
I'm hoping to persuade her to stick around long enough to go to the Exeter game.

Re: Wembley Details
The opening gambit was less than charming:
"What about Exeter, darling? It's a really nice, historic town."
"Where's that compared to Stonehenge?"
"Further south."
"We can go the day after."
"I was thinking Saturday."
"We'll be in Wales by then."
"We don't NEED to go to Wales."
"Saturday?"
"Yes."
"When does the match kick off?"
"Match?"
"Don't give me that bullshit. When does it kick off and how long is the drive home?"
"3pm. It's probably a 5-6 hour drive back, but we could..."
*look of death ends conversation there*
I tried, readers. I tried
