Maybe, but I wouldn't condemn him on one sub appearance in a disastrous match. Fair enough, howler for our third goal – but overall there's not much difference a defensive midfielder can make as a half-time sub at 0-2, especially when it quickly becomes 0-3 and the boss starts throwing Hail Mary subs from the bench, tattering any remaining shape and cohesion there was. Schuey changed it again on the 54th minute, bringing on Finn Azaz, and then again 12 minutes later when he finally replaced one of his backfiring rear trio with someone with a bit more pace (Brendan Galloway). By that point it was 0-4.

I know he was injured but surely they should have found a way to get Toal into that?
