Once were Wanderers...V Burton away Tues 18th Apr. 7-45

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

Dempsey again ffs. Drifting back post pass sails out for a goal kick.

Going to the corner?

Jesus. How sad is that.
They’ve allowed us 22 shots, one every four minutes

We should have made more of them I guess

Better than last season but not quite promotion material aren’t we.

Trafford very unlucky not to be on the winning side.

Think Randell has shown up well also.

Ooh late Ipswich goal - that would put them too at Plymouth in the playoffs. I have a feeling Argyle are going to bottle it
They've got the easier run in. Can't imagine that the others wouldnt slip up. Still time.

I’d rather support Bolton than Burton. Shocking outfit.

If I was Trafford I'd be going mental at them for that goal. It was disgraceful defending. Jones then has the audacity to complain to Johnston, Williams and MJ.

Sorry captain but you're the difference.

It’s a good point really. We’d take being in a play off position with a game in hand and 3 out of 4 games at home.

You can’t ask for more. The risk is bottling in it those three home games.

But still I’d rather be us than Derby or Peterborough right now.

Overall, I'm happy with a point. We're better than GD and 6th. We're GD, game in hand and 6th! Just need to win it... :-)

I would really like 9 from 9 in the next three at home...

All said, it's our bogey ground so a point is better than a loss but why oh why didn't we play all game like we did from the 60th minute?

We wouldn't need to defend. They would have probably taken it to the corner at 1 nil.

Not too unexpected at this stage and time. It was always going to be tough one way and another. Tonight it was a ploughed field, a xxxx ref and some poor finishing from us. But we got a point away that some didn't think we would. Could be worse... :oyea:

Posh hold off a late Accy push. Grr.

So those wins from behind for Ipswich and Plymouth push Wednesday from (temporarily, theoretically) top to third, having played a game more. Someone is going to be a very sorry third place.

I recommend people don't watch the Thommason shot again. He would have scored if he hadn't tried shooting and just fell on the ball.

Sorry but what are you wanting him to do? It’s one of those where the keeper saves it and it just bounces out. Jones has gone to block any shot.

You can’t do much about it.

If we are criticising let’s start with the striker who can’t shoot first time or the two open goals we’ve missed, one from about a yard,

Defence have been brilliant tonight in defensive terms and in two away games have conceded once. You cannot blame a makeshift defence who I think have performed heroics.

We had a plethora of chances and like most of the season our Achilles heel is not scoring enough goals.

Sheff Weds could finish 3rd and get 96 fecking points...that'd be "tough" - mind they're from Yerkshire so I don't care...

I’m pleased with performance - we stood up and apart from fifteen mins in the second half we’re comfortably the better side. We tried to play football on a fecking beach. We didn’t resort to time wasting or diving. He picked the right side - Sheehan and Kachunga not right for tonight, adebayojo handled the awkward conditions well and Charles was Charles, got us up the pitch and on the break so often until he tired. Randell Williams played well and kept that side under control. Just a few misplaced passes and I think on the goal johnston misstimed the initial jump and got caught, MJ potentially stuck in the turf (or slow to react) and Jones nowhere!

Poor old George Thomason though, an absolute stinker in front of goal. Possibly the worst miss I’ve ever seen from a wanderer. Deanos crown has gone..

It might have been behind him. Might. Even so any kind of contact and it’s in…it seems to loop up from his back heel over?? feck knows. It’s a bad in. Five minutes before he kicked the ground rather than the ball when it opened up, then after that he passed rather than shot when on edge of 6 yard area. The classic ‘jigsaw’.
