End of Season Awards

Post by Worthy4England » Sun Apr 30, 2023 3:51 pm

Bit surprised by a clean sweep by Bradley, although I'd have probably had him for Young Player....

Young Player of the Year: Shared Traff/Bradley
Players player of the season: Bradley
Player of the Season: Bradley

One thing it shows, that I think we sorta knew, possibly two chunky holes to fill next season, wherever we land...

Hard to disagree with the clean sweep. I suspect Trafford should've been in contention for a lot of those. As for the rest, Charles stands out and the midfielders, but the rest have been in and out with injuries.

Plenty of people in contention thankfully.

I think Geth deserves a special mention this season. Never lets you down. Never below a 7. Has had very difficult personal circumstances and come through it. I always think we look a worse side when he’s not playing too.

Player of the season for me is probably Traf but you can argue easily for Bradley.

Charles for me is still questionable in overall game terms but clearly you can’t take away his achievements in terms of goals and if you take him out I shudder to think where we’d be. So probably needs to be in the mix.

I’m with BWFCi. I had Traf as number 1, with Charles and George Johnston as my 2 and 3. Gethin is definitely Mr dependable - and Santos has been bloody good as well! Would have given young player to Bradley and main award to Traf.

Most improved - Morley?

Traff was my pick also with Bradley a close second so wont argue against Bradley getting it. He was perhaps the most consistent player all season all things considered. Have no idea how we will be able to fill those 2 positions next season with similar or even better quality. They have been truly outstanding for such young players.

Most improved, yeah, Dibs. And he got goal of the season. :-)

Guy gets 20 goals and doesn't win the cigar? Wow Where would we be without his goals?

I guess what I interests TD is that Bradley got the players' player. That to me has always been the one you'd want..

That's the modern game for you, Tangs. Apparently, it's not all about goals 🙄

Well Tony, we seem to have half a forum who are more interested in maybe shit, than actual shit. The way we construct the "put it in row z" is more important than it actually landing in row Z.. So many Arsenal fans, it beggars belief...

I heard that Charles had been moonlighting for other teams under the guise of Firstname Lastname whilst wearing a Kachunga face mask so maybe that may have been a factor in him not getting the nod.

Record number of clean sheets too though….which obviously not all down to Trafford but then Charles isn’t scoring just solo efforts either.

And Bradley has been excellent all season.

Trafford, Bradley and Charles should all really be in the mix and I think in reality it’s hard to pick between them and maybe comes down to personal choice more than anything else.

Quite, but neither is Charles. 100% team worker/grafter. First name on the sheet after Trafford for me.
