Pizza Cup group-game dates fixed (almost).
Salford (H) Tue 5 Sep, 7.45pm
Rag Kids (H) Tue 26 Sep* 7.45pm
Stockport (A) Tue 14 Nov, 7.30pm
*Unless we win in the League Cup 2nd round, in which case we'll play the rag kids on Tue 10 Oct. (We play Barrow at home in the League Cup 1st round.)

Small note while perusing the new EFL rules (what, you aren't?) – players we loan to National League and National League North (or, less likely, South) teams will still be eligible to pop back and play in the Pizza Cup for us.
That's broadly sensible, I think – a pathway to the first team for those 'ready for men's football' but still on the fringe. And not a theoretical thing. In our case, last season we lent Matty Grivosti to Yeovil (then tier 5), Conor Carty to Oldham and Gateshead (both 5), Adam Senior to Telford (6) and Halifax (5), and Max Conway to Buxton (6).
Oh, one other thing from the rules - this is where the extra balls should be....

Can confirm that's where they've been for pre-season. Ball boys taking a while to get the message that there's one in play and the rest should be on the cones, though - apparently there have been a couple lost already to sticky-fingered fans, who face a rolling ban until the ball is returned. So, you know, at least you've been warned now...Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 3:29 pmSmall note while perusing the new EFL rules (what, you aren't?) – players we loan to National League and National League North (or, less likely, South) teams will still be eligible to pop back and play in the Pizza Cup for us.

The time wasting / disruption thing will be teams training their ball-boys to throw an extra ball on when the chasing team wants a quick throw.
"I've got the ball now. It's a bit worn, but I've got it"
