The replays show the ball going onto the keepers chest then veering off around his hand area. If it didn't then he deserves the red for the challenge before it.

You should check out the main Derby forum. Talk about raging arguments about the red and his decisions.

Decent call for complaints i'd imagine. Penalty for a foul outside the box, red card for their keeper and giving a penalty despite Derby scoring.sonicthewhite wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 3:00 pmYou should check out the main Derby forum. Talk about raging arguments about the red and his decisions.
The ref was at least consistent in his blowing as soon as he'd seen a foul that resulted in a penalty. He did the same when we had our penalty shout, before our shot came in, so I doubt Derby can be too critical of not letting the game flow for their penalty.

Nah the ref let us have two shots then pulled the game back. Derby fans rightly annoyed I’d say. Given the keeper shouldn’t have been sent off and the penalty we had was incredibly borderline arguably just outside.Mar wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 3:10 pmDecent call for complaints i'd imagine. Few replays floating round social media - EFL had some long highlights on YouTube.Spartan2 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 7:52 pmwhich replays?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 12:41 pmHe was sent off for a handball but replays shows it hit him in the chest. Ball clearly strikes his chest. He definitely didn’t help himself in the way he dived but you can see impact on chest and his shirt billowing.
Not that I have much sympathy. Derby fans screaming for santos penalty for wrestling their lad down in the box but never was - both had a hold.
Didn’t really have an issue with the referee yesterday but he basically ignored timewasting as though it was still last season.

We were right in front of it in the Lofthouse Lower and did look like the most blatant Handball ever. Arms outstretched and obviously it happened quickly. I can see why the liner gave it, though I'm sure it will be rescinded
Also, with regards to the handball penalty shout. It was definitely a penalty, but then had they got it, they wouldn't have got another one 10 seconds later, so justice prevailed there.
The one in the second half with Adeboyejo. Ade is being fouled quite blatantly. Shirt almost torn off and they'd been playing for that the entire match. If the ref had to make a decision, it would have been FK to us
The frustrating thing is, we battered em from minute 1 to 90, then their timewasting gave them the time to have a bombardment at the end. Luckily, we stayed strong.
Santos, Sheehan, Toal were top class
"I've got the ball now. It's a bit worn, but I've got it"

Aye agree with that. Looked nailed on live. Don't think the lino gave it, ref was ready to give it straight away, think their chat was to check the lino didn't think it wasnt and about the goalscoring opportunity, ie did the lino think the shot was going.
From the video going all around it'll rightly get rescinded but you can see why they've given it.
The mad bastards on their forum reckon the Total handball was a red for denying a goalscoring opportunity
Was a pen, but as you say they got one from the next corner anyway. Ref must have been relieved when the went in!
Agree on the second half one too. Full dark arts of grab the other player then hit the deck falling back so it looks like they're grabbing you.
I say second half one, they wanted another for the ball getting headed onto Toal's elbow while he was on the floor from 2 yards away

This is an "unintended consequence" thing that was noted by Richard Williams earlier this season after watching Sheff Utd timewaste from their 48th-minute equaliser until conceding on 89 minutes, then reap the eight-minute benefits of their own actions. I don't think there's a way round it, though. What if Forest had timewasted from going in front on 3 minutes?boltonboris wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 9:23 amThe frustrating thing is, we battered em from minute 1 to 90, then their timewasting gave them the time to have a bombardment at the end.
Good news is we fans get more like the time we pay for. What the teams do with it... well, that's football, Kev.
I appreciate the ref seeking advice, but you would imagine he (somewhere in the middle of the pitch) would have a much better angle than the person stood side-on to the shot...

Aye you'd expect the ref to make the call but lino probably best placed on height, but given where he was it wasn't going miles over. A lot of the time I think it's to buy themselves a bit of thinking time (and mainly I suspect "I think it got his arm, so you disagree?) but really once he's given the foul (wrongly but I think understandably) it had to be a red.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 10:34 amThis is an "unintended consequence" thing that was noted by Richard Williams earlier this season after watching Sheff Utd timewaste from their 48th-minute equaliser until conceding on 89 minutes, then reap the eight-minute benefits of their own actions. I haven't seen a video or anything or even knew what was happening it was just in reference to a load of 'oh god what has happened now' things on twitter. I assumed a player was in trouble.boltonboris wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 1:55 pmIs this in reference to the video that has surfaced?? Crikey. I wonder if Sharon will bail him out of this one, too

Apparently a video has emerged on social media of Evatt showing off an appendage. He sounds like the victim here, actually. It's supposedly a private video that someone has leaked - which would make him the victim of revenge porn.
