A problem with 433 - and for clarity I'm not against it, I've long wanted us to be versatile - is that we're currently strongest at CB & CF. So if you only play two centre-backs and one striker, you're strangling your squad strength.

That said, two of our six CBs (Geth and Iredale) are arguably stronger as full back, Vic has played a lot of his football wide in a 3, and Dan has to fit somewhere (well he doesn't have to but we can hope). Less sure about Bod wide but at his best he's a savvy player.

When you say stronger I assume you're talking about more bodies up front rather than they're all ace. I thought the consensus after pages of debate was strikers 3-5 were pants

Aye and lightest in the natural wide attacking areas. Its problematic in some ways.

Alternatively though we only have three fit/available centre halves and one of them is more a full back if we're honest. And I'm not convinced we've found an effective front pairing beyond Vic and Dion yet.

A different system might get more out of Dan/Bod (who for me would be through the middle as an option but could be off the right in some circumstances).

The Barnsley game on (checks calendar) 14 Oct 2023 has just been officially postponed for callups, so Geth's suspension is now effectively a month of league games.
