We really are gash. Press us and we can't handle it. Two weeks off and these players still look knackered. A wins' a win but if the opposition were even remotely decent that would have been embarrassing.

I don't get it?

We have won and you're saying it's cause the oppo are shite whilst we're also shite. A better team would x, y and z. Well they didn't and we did. Simple.

And I, for one, would argue that "nothing" should at the very least include a win, 3 points, no injuries, climbing the table.

Well, we won but it's a bit concerning we can only seemingly play for one half. Our fast starts doing heavy lifting at the moment.

And the problem is? Starting fast and finishing slow,- as long as we still win - achieves exactly the same as starting slow and finishing fast, or playing the whole game at an even but slower speed doesn't it?

Excellent first half. Woeful 2nd, particularly the last half hour. Should have been out of sight by the time we put our subs on and significantly weakened ourselves, again.

Still. 3 points and the McGinlay suite is superb :oyea:

Didn't go today thank fcuk, but a win is a win.

However, hearing from people who did said it was same old same old, played well for 25-30 mins then went to shite for the rest of the game. There is something very wrong with the teams mentality, attitude & fitness, they have just had two weeks off and got players back and yet again can only play with intensity for 30 mins.

What the hell does Evatt say to them at half time ?

I think that you may be correct. Not good though for the paying public is it ?

Second highest 12 game points tally for a promotion season, in my 60 years. Only one in front was 1996. Can't please all of the people...

Jesus wept. Have a day off, you miserable sod.

Some fantastic play in that first half, great one and two touch passing moves, and it looked like we were going to steam-roller them. Unfortunately, football is a game of two halves often complicated by the presence of a second team, and Northampton made it very difficult for us in the last half hour. We held out, as teams who have aims of promotion need to do. A win's a win. Onto the next one.

Does Evatt tell his captain why don’t you pass the ball to their centre forward on the penalty spot? Let’s help them equalise!

Only reason we won today is cos they were one of the worst teams we have ever played, certainly at the Reebok. We were abysmal in that second half, won no second balls, and managed to pass to the opposition more than our own. We were not up for it at all second half. At half time we should have been thinking goal difference, instead we were clinging on! After a week off!

This. It’s absolute unadulterated garbage. The worst half of football I can remember. People moaned non end about the last twenty minutes against Hull that cost Megson his job. This was 1000 times worse. Lack of effort and energy all over. Captain setting the example and just brazenly gifting them what should have been a goal under no pressure.

No intensity. No desire. I’m paying to watch it and it’s absolutely miserable.

Pretend it’s good because people don’t like the truth. Can’t be bothered it was awful.

We won. They were the worst side I’ve seen here this season.

Now two tough aways and it’s going to need massive improvement if we are to win both.

Another worst side this season?

Over on cricket thread you're mitigating probably the worst England ODI side (results wise) I can recall who lost by one of the largest margins on victory ever.

Yet this win, another three points, is shit. It was a good 45 and a poor 90.

The only differences that explain the inconsistencies and unobjective response is if you like who's part of it, you will defend utter dross. And if you don't they're getting both barrels regardless.

I'm not entertained currently by Bolton, but we are getting results at the moment when not playing well. Which was a primary demand from last season...

If the team are only going to play for one half then the club should half ticket prices.

They can then expect you to leave at half time?

Might see the second halves improve without the negativity.

Loads of negativity. I missed the second half sadly, but going off the responses it's probably for the best.

Regardless. Its great that we won. We needed the points and got them. The manner is irrelevant. If we win when we play badly its a good thing.

Still loads of positives from that first half. We created loads of good plays and looked like we were gonna walk the game.
