Get in! A win on the road, not sure I understand how!
Re: Wycombe and we go: Away vs Wycombe (Tues 24th October 19:45)
Second most prolific team in the league as it stands.
Lovely result. Frustrating, but nice to see we can rest Williams and still score goals.
Charlton Athletic up next, away from home. Charlton having scored 17 goals in their last 5 home games (3-1,4-1,2-2,4-2,4-0). Should be a goal fest.

Good to see Dan flinging it about when he came on. I know the reception, even though he has been consistently shite, has been harsh; but if it’s made him want to fight, then so be it.
What a win. Made it difficult, and lots to worry about, but lots to like. Sads did nowt, too.

So we do actually have some bottle and fight in us? If only they could find it on a more regular basis.

Don't know how but there is something mentally wrong as you could see the instance Wycombe equalised we changed back into the team from the first half.
Josh Sheehan the difference at 2-2. Bossed it and dragged the team back up to where we needed to be.

Big thanks to D.J.Blue for the match. We got a bit cocky, careless and even lazy, but came through ang got a great three away points. Well done.

He did fling it about. Can’t fault the energy, but he did nothing much more than backheel it off the pitch. I am genuinely concerned that he is heading into a place he can’t return from with the fans - I’m fairly certain he was booed onto the pitch - not helped by the fact he came on as they had equalised.BorsdaneWhite wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 9:47 pmGood to see Dan flinging it about when he came on. #winugly.
Delighted with another three points, but WTF went on between minute 46 and minute 80? I hear the "they stepped onto our MF, which is right, but the whole XI, looked like they'd taken CBA pills at HT. Certainly wasn't "energy" coz we showed we had plenty left from minute 81-93....

It's probably mental at that point. Expecting a drop off, frustration and nervousness all playing a factor. Thankfully, we've managed to overcome it today and hopefully put one step towards a narrative that we do what it takes to get the wins.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 10:00 pm#winugly.

I honestly think it's been a collective mentality issue. Once we stop playing to our tune (or the oppo stop us playing) we shrink in to our shells and hope someone else takes on the accountability and responsibility. Hopefully tonight has taught them that they are ALL accountable and responsible. Anyway, great win and up the Whites!Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 10:00 pm#winugly.

So hang on a minute. We've just won twice in 4 days. 5 out of the last 6. We're 4th, and win our game in hand we potentially go 2nd. We're the 2nd most prolific team in the league.
And we're still whinging, complaining, criticising and fault-finding????

Yeah, probably. But I guess we answered in part, Saturday's would you prefer to be one down and score 2 in the last 15, coz we gave it a good run out.
Either way happy with three points at a ground where we usually turn up to die and where they'd only lost 1 before today. Good pointage.

Yeah thought Sheehan played his part at 2-2. Toal and Forrester played well. Santos, not sure. He did defend well but did he do enough to get us up the field until 2-2? Just such a weird performance, turned it on at 2-2!

I guess you missed the bit about "delighted with three points" as I was Saturday. Hardly inconceivable on a discussion forum, that some wonder why we often look lethargic after HT.dave the minion wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 10:18 pmSo hang on a minute. We could always just say "job done"...but if you want to be the best, don't you always examine the bits you can try and improve?
Re: Wycombe and we go: Away vs Wycombe (Tues 24th October 19:45)
It'll be put down to luck but we blew them away when we attacked with purpose, just the sitting back and not finding the ruthless streak until the 81st minute. I think the team need to realise that teams won't mentally give up until the 3rd goes in.dave the minion wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 10:18 pmSo hang on a minute. Pretty much where I was at. The equaliser was like hitting the "wake up" switch, which we then did, really well. Surely the best game management for a match you've pretty much bossed 45 minutes and gone in 2-up, is come out and make it 3-up!DJBlu wrote: ↑Tue Oct 24, 2023 10:29 pmIt'll be put down to luck but we blew them away when we attacked with purpose, just the sitting back and not finding the ruthless streak until the 81st minute. Which is fine, but there is another team involved. One who has probably had an absolute rocket put up them at half time for being 2 nil down, so come out all guns blazing and making it far harder for us to press on and get that 3rd goal....

Ruthless streak is nice to have but 2-0 we should be able to be professional and knock it about take the sting out etc etc….
We lack some leaders. And toughnuts, hardmen etc….we get away with it sometimes but January should be addressed. The fact is that if we could get that side right we’d be the best side in this league by a distance. But it’s a big side that is missing.

We're Bolton supporters; it's part of the deal.
Got my ticket for Saturday and looking forward to more of the same!
