An Athletic sprint down the Valley: V Charlton away 28th Oct. 3-0'clock.

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

Can the Superewhites look forever north as they go scalp hunting down south ? 13th , Charlton's current league position, is only unlucky if you believe in that sort of stuff, but we need to be wary. With a ground capacity at The Arena Stadium similar to our own, we may be a bit outnumbered on the vocal stage, but Bolton fans fear nought, so, up and et em lads... :Jedi: .....

At the what in the where now?

Into the Valley I shall go, with the mighty Flanners, and hopefully – as at Wycombe – bump into both Prufrock and my fellow former Tripe n Trotters editor Kettle (aka Keeeebaaab on here for a while). Anyone else off here going? Tony D? Anyone seen Enoch recently?

Aye, The Valley is only four miles up the road from me, so I’ll be there on Saturday and I’m looking forward to it immensely after Tuesday’s showing.

The locals aren’t massively optimistic, and the feeling is that they have a talented but youthful and perhaps naïve group of players. Likely to be a threat to us going forwards, but potentially porous at the back.

I’m trying to temper my confidence by recalling the extended shit spells we’ve had in recent games, but my instinct is we’re going to win this one.

Aye, I have my ticket and will keep an eye out for fellow miscreants off here. Pru told me a while back that Enoch is back in the pub game, so I guess that limits his appearances at games.

The pub game? Bar billiards?

Well, I hope he's well. And I hope you are too.

Is there a ground where we have a better record than we have here in the last dozen or so visits?

Sad to be missing it this year but since we finally scored and won at Fortress Adams Park this week, the football gods will ensure we come a cropper at this usual happy hunting ground on Saturday. 0-1 defeat

I am slightly worried about this as we do have a good record at Charlton that must come to an end at some point. The only time I remember losing at their gaff is a League Cup game c15 years ago.

When we were good under Allardyce we won. When we were bad in our decline we lost. Now were good we've been winning. This is the chance to make it 5 in a row and it certainly doesn't seem like a coupon buster.

Generally we seem to be Charltons bogey team. Hopefully that continues.

I've not posted on here for a while, but read it all the time. This has brought me pout of my malaise though - I went to school with Kettle! Pretty sure I came up with the daft nickname in the first place

Good work D.S.B. I was brought up with some of the CARR family, school wise, back at St Josephs Halliwell. Their first shop was on Halliwell Road. The pasties have changed format, but they're still top stuff. :oyea:

Almost 1,800 tickets sold according to the club. Should be a great atmos. Pay on the day might make it closer to 2k.
